My best mate has a mk 4 r32. Much better than the s3! He has a miltek non resonated ( Which makes it sound like a lambo lol!) carbarnio intake and a custom code remap. IT revs away so much nice than any 1.8t ever could. In my opinion its not all about figures, his probably runs about 260 ish...

Hub to calliper arrangement is totally different on a mk 5 to mk 4 chassis. they wont fit with out a lot of custom engineering. Im keeping my eye out for a set of mk4'32 brakes, but there selling for silly money.

Eibach and H+R are the best springs you can buy for V.A.G cars, and anything german for that matter. On a S3 model, they do tend to make the car sit that little lower, which i prefer.

225 for the wheels seond hand (ebay ) 35 per rim for the refurb ( with polished lip, powdercoated silver centres ) Then 67 quid a corner for flaken fk452s fitted and 32 quid for the bbs badges off german ebay. As i say ill get some good pics up, as the one up at the mo just doesnt do it...

I use R32 grey bilstien standard shocks on my s3. THere pretty much the same shocks as b8s, as i tried the push down test on the two rear shocks, with the r32 ones being a touch stiffer. Watch them on ebay, i paid 70 quid for a full setup with about 30 k on them, i saw a set go for 50 quid...

I take it you have the resonated system? ( with a silencer in the centre section ) I have this system too, althougth its quiet inside the car, from the outside it sounds great i think, not to loud but nice and throaty. Anyhow, if you want it louder, you will need to get the centre silencer...

I wreckon you would be able to fit a big lump in a3/ mk4 bay. People have allready put the 3.6 l v6 lumps in mk4 golfs, as its basically the same as the 3.2 ( R32 ) lump. Something like a big v8 would be very difficult, but not impossible, you would possible need to re- fabricate chassis legs...

I agree with the above. I have R32 biliies with H&R springs which is slightly harder than the s3 billies. Ride is smoother than before ( althougth my shocks did have 85k on them ) and it doesnt crash or bump like a slammed hot hatch. Just a bit stiffer and more progressive, with much better...

I had a simaler problem with mine , but i was loosing loads of coolant, i also had white gunk on the cap, but not in the actaul oil. Mine turned out to be blown head gasket and a cracked head with bent valves in cylinder number 1. Is it misfiring badly? mine was! It seems more and more 1.8ts...

Im going to chop and re-weld some standard bars to the right length. I was wondering if any one new when the bars are set ( for a - 25 mm set up) how much shorter they are? im guessing at taking 4 -5 mm out. Oh yeah before any one says, i am tight! And im a qualified engineer, so no it wont be...

Found to be a cracked head in the end, now got a nice low millage one, running sweet!
