Jerky gear changes / stuttering at low speed

Well the e-tron is now back, after just after a week at Brighton Audi. All seems well, and they kept us informed as well as mobile. And I was pleasantly surprised to find theyd left an Audi / Samsonite laptop case and an Audi accessories pack (usb stick in the shape of an Audi key, SD card a 4...

Jerky gear changes / stuttering at low speed

Just an update really; the car is still with Brighton Audi... Should be finished tomorrow...looks like it's in the workshop with the bonnet open, so still some work to do!! The virtual cockpit display in the A4 is pretty cool, but I do miss the Google Earth mapping in the etron - whilst...

Jerky gear changes / stuttering at low speed

Its not often used for long journeys, but recently, when it is, our e-tron had started to exhibit stuttering / jerky gear changes at low speed. Not always, but often enough to be an issue. There was also the occasional error message - 'gearbox fault' or 'drivetrain fault'. So it was booked in...

    Sensible decision....

Well we're still very pleased with our choice; it wasn't particularly chosen for its PHEV status, though it is plugged in every night at home and as a result has average 100mpg over the last 6,000 miles. But it's also very capable, and pretty economical, on much longer trips. A 560mile return...

    Sensible decision....

Ah I see; if you can't actually charge it at your place of work then no, it's not going to make much sense. Though, if there's an outdoor 13a socket at work that it can be plugged in to it will fully charge in around 4 hours using the portable charger the car comes with.

    Sensible decision....

If her job is nearer 10 than 15 miles away she's likely to be able to do a return trip by just charging at work, based on my experience. I hadn't actually planned on buying and e-tron originally - I was just looking for a well specced petrol A3. I had been looking at new COD ones, and then...

Sat Nav no satellites - Common?

My e-tron has this problem; sometimes being in a field, sometimes thinking it had gone back home to Ingolstadt!! It's currently in Brighton Audi, where a faulty aerial has been diagnosed and a replacement is being fitted (after painting). I should have it back tomorrow! The good news is that...

    Upgrading sound system

Our e-tron is fitted with the standard sound system. While it's ok, it's nothing special. Now I suppose I could go down the retro fit route with either Bose or the Audi sound system. But is there anything else I can do? Upgrade speakers or amps? I don't want to spend a fortune, but I would...

    Central locking problem....HELP!

I'd be tempted to post on the main 8V A3 forum; it gets more traffic! Sorry I can't help :(

    Battery range

I was pondering this, as I used our e-from for a 400 mile round trip this week, just to see what it was capable of. I filled up before I left - 698 miles of local running around had used 26 litres, which is just under 122mpg I think... So at least the trip computer is pretty accurate. Though I...

    A3 e-tron first impressions

I did take a look and see if I could find some cheap electricity...

    A3 e-tron first impressions

So, almost two weeks in, some initial thoughts on the Audi A3 e-tron... It looks great in misano red I think, and it certainly makes a change to see a brightly coloured car on the drive after a string of greyish Audi/BMW/Mercs. The black leather/alcantara sports seats are very comfortable, and...

Post Pics Of Your A3/S3 8v In Here

Here's our 'new' A3 e-tron. For the amount we saved I'm happy with it already having covered 6k miles - bar the lack of adaptive cruise it has everything I'd have ordered :) Didn't manage to get any free electricity though :p

    Warm mirrors on cold day

Yes, the wires were already there in mine (a 2008 '57 plate 2.0 TFSI S-Line)

    Warm mirrors on cold day

Heated mirrors were optional on the 2008 S Line, at least they were on my 57 plate one. I didn't order them - assumed they'd be standard!! But swapping the mirror glasses for the ones with heating elements was a straightforward swap and they worked with no other mods.

    Excessive Tyre Wear?

My 57 reg' 2.0T S-Line went through it's front tyres (continental) in a similar mileage to your Mum's; at the time I though it was poor :faint: The replacement Goodyears have lasted better, but they too will need replacing (front) soon and have only done 11k miles. Just a function of the 18"...

    Double-din conversion clarification

Although looking more closely it's a little more involved; the switch panel/cupholder is now under the stereo, and the cupholder is replaced with a card drawer... Peter

    Double-din conversion clarification

My partner has a '57 plate A3 Special Edition; that came with manual a/c and a double din Concert II+ CD player (which might have been an upgrade from the standard unit?), so a double din version of the manual a/c defintely exists. If you want pictures let me know and I'll take some tomorrow...
