had a similar fault which turned out to be a faulty coil pack, would hesitate at around 3k rpm like a stutter then take off, sometimes it was there sometimes not. The coil pack eventually went after about a week of normal driving. I changed all mine for new and kept 2 of the old with a matching...

Cheers for the help guys but un fortunately its not its actually the headlight itself !!! you know the reflective part ibside the unit, well its the bottom part of that has come away from where i assume it attatches to the adjusting motor it flaps about if you push the lamp now !!!!

Right then im proper ****** off as ive just tried changing my xenon lamps today and ive gone and been a clumsy **** and bust the headlight where it connects to the self levellimg system :(
So now that im lightting up...

Makes me worry about my AMK now she seems a little down on power too hopefully the full service tomorrow will put the spring back in...

Fully qualified spark here and just to warn you that if you fuckup and yopur mates house burns down he will get NO insurance claim because you cannot certificate the work you have done. Also the fridge thing is ******** they can trip RCD's but only on start up, remember that all sockets feasible...
hey there i had the same problem with mine and it turned out to be the cam sensor/crank sensor, it can also be the temp sender unit too, your best bet is to see if anyone on here can doa scan with vagcom for you to try and narrowit down a little
Minty and i must be The slowest S3 drivers in the country !! I regularly see 400-420 miles out of a tank of tesco 99. Perhaps i should trade her in for a volvo ???????????

cars not been re mapped just thinking of trying outthe j valve to see ifit will work but i havent got vagcom so thats why i was wondering :) do i need it to reset limp mode ?? or to re align the throttle body ??
