REMAP OR NOT REMAP THAT IS THE QUESTION

Had my 1.8TQ done by CC as well, not sure about panel and dv tho..suppose price aint bad for the lot so why not! The torque/bhp increase from a remap is well worth it i rekon..

    REmap in the norfolk area?

Sorry CC = Custom-Code, is a nice smooth map as people say, i feel most of the torque kicks in at around 3k up until 6k..Revo apparently (cant say never had it) is a bit more aggressive..and gives you the power in more of a burst, maybe a bit like the chip uk map i had where i could feel it...

    REmap in the norfolk area?

yeah is the only place in Norwich I take my A3, although being Norwich options are limited! Never had any issues with them and would reccomend them if Revo is the way you want to go..otherwise CC offer a moble tuning service although you dont get dyno runs. I have CC on mine and am happy with...

    Driving Your S3 / A3 At Speed = Twats

Maybe you should go offer your condolences to them instead of preaching on here, obviously it's really affected you..plus i think you will find the one moaning like a bitch is in fact you. Nobody on here needs to be told driving ast high speeds is dangerous and irresponsible, those who know and...

    A3 1.8T (1999)- REVO S1, for sale

guess it depends on the buyer, if you got all the oil changes logged / reciepted then it would be all good by me..but yeh you can never tell how other people with percieve it! If you have switched back to stock settings then I guess its up to you whether you mention it or not! What milage has...

    Custom Code Remap

Hmm personally I would stick with stock dv and filter, most people seem to agree the standard filter is not restrictive for a remapped S3 so wont bring you any gains. The DV certainly wont, but people do replace as its stronger than standard, however you could buy 3 OE DV's for the price of the...

    Newbie to Detaling? Look inside...

I tried to clay my car for the first time the other week, results were nice overall but when rubbing the clay it felt scratchy :S and I have noticed a couple of fine scratches on the paint work! I know you are meant to "turn in" the clay which I did but the clay picks up imperfections straight...

Can't Live With, Can't Live Without......

The car will be nearly 7 years old so cam belt may not be such a bad idea if its never been done, I bought a 99 1.8T with 17k on the clock but have done then cam belt regardless, just to be on the safe side! Rest of the wear will vary depending how it been driven I guess! Maybe you could get the...

    Which Turbo

Well for the wheel figure no 4wd transmission loss so higher figure, also when on rollers the haldex keeps shifting power to the back so reading not quite as accurate. Up to you end of the day, you can get a CC map for £312 and they come out to where you are, worth the 20hp and much improved...

    Which Turbo

I'm not so sure if it is ko3s, mines the AJQ first remap hit 195 hp and 215 running in fwd (turned something off using vag com I believe to make it run fwd only), on a seperate rr it got 199 so never really above 200 unless you count the time haldex was pulled. Still feel a nice difference but...

2WD vs 4WD off the line

:) indeed, no choice with esp on quattro models? I have no button anyhow I guess haldex decides for you :| On a very OT note, how do you get double line spacing on your posts mine look crap and too long and together!

2WD vs 4WD off the line

Also depends on how aggressive your start is I guess. Dumping the clutch from 3k+ on 2wd in the dry will still spin the wheels, 4wd it will launch off the line with a huge thud as your clutch cry's. Off the line 4wd imo will be quicker in nearly all cases but once you have got past the initial...

    A3 Quattro build thread

You got me intrested NOW :p Not sure if I should get brakes or suspension first though, will you be getting it mapped after all this work? Most people do it other way round guess you have more patience! I think I will have to get brakes as standard have faded twice on me, always slow down well...

    Custom Codededed today!!!!

hey, Just had my 1.8TQ mapped by CC today also. It previously had a chipped uk map on it, seems to be fair bit of difference between the two. With c-uk I had large amount of torque ready at 3000 rpm however the engine really whined at 4500 or above and the pull was slightly weaker, with the CC...

    Will this dent pop out?

Hmm must just be expensive my way, got 3 diff quotes couldnt find anything cheaper, that or they just see me comming! Thought a new bumper would be around £300 inc spraying it, also wasnt sure how easy it would be to get hold of as the car has a factory fitted bodykit. Scraped the door once...

    Will this dent pop out?

I had a dent exact same place but a bit bigger, reversed into a damn Fiat Cinquecento! broke its tail light but left a huge dent in my bumper. Took it to my local bodyshop who said as it wasn't dual layered they could remould it (I think they just warm it up and push it out, could be wrong...

    S3 now low!

A little too low for me, wheels are going into the arches; prefer the snug fit where arches stay just above tyres outline. All personal preference though, still a nice looking motor!
