Yes, they are a bit fiddly to attach, but once it's attached it's solid and will hold pretty much anything in place to stop it sliding around the boot.
James - there were four metal fixings with holes in the boot and it was just a question of pushing the plug into the holes and then twisting for the plug to lock.
Peter, yes the net is still available - make me an offer. Net is here in the classifieds.
Same problem with mine - I took the small black plastic jet off and then tried the rear washer......and it worked.
I soaked the small black plastic washer jet in limescale remover for a few hours and then rinsed it and it's been fine ever since.
My Sportback has served me well with my 5 and 9 year old since getting it 2.5 years ago. I've used a roof box with it a couple of times as well for extra space, but for general day to day tasks it does a great job.
Cheers N8 - wont be in the same class as my A3 as it's only a 1.6TDi, but it will do the job and is nice and cheap on the company car tax. RNS-510 is a cracking bit of kit, so good choice :icon_thumright:.
Hey folks
Hope the mods will let this post stay up for a bit as it'll get more attention here rather than just being in the classifieds:icon_thumright:.
My A3 is going back to the leasing company within the next week, so yesterday I took off all the bits I'd added since getting the car back in...
I've had Conti Sport 3s up until recently and switched to Goodyear F1 Assymetrics. Got 4 delivered next day from Camskill for £398.
Very pleased with the tyres - fantastic grip in the wet as well as in the dry - recommend them.
Dremel will do it no problem which is how I did mine. There are two welds on the bottom of each pipe which the dremel will get through no problem - just watch you dont go straight through the exhaust as well.
Not a bad car to have when you're 19 it has to be said .
Get yourself an RNS-E and you can have an Aux-in without too much hassle. Also the benefit of sat-nav and 2xSD Cards as well for your tunes - plenty of info on the RNS-E on this site.
A facelift will transform the front end as...
Just to confirm Spin's comments re Bluefin. Had it on my 2.0 Tdi since 250 miles. It's now on 60k and hasn't missed a beat - very, very happy with the map and I paid the pre-discount price for it back in 2007!
RNS-E was in when you got the car from the dealer though?
If yes, the same applies above - get your dealer to recode the unit for you so you can eject the disc - either that or if you're near someone with VCDS they can recode it for you for a couple of beer tokens.
I'm pretty certain there is a setting on VCDS that prevents the disc being ejected - it's normally done so that the dvd doesn't go 'missing' before delivery. I'm guessing yours is a new A3? If so, get the dealer to code it correctly mate so you can eject the disc - they should have done this...
