    New tyres again!!!!

Were you offered tyre insurance when you purchased the car? Up to 5 tyres in 3 years I believe. Has anyone taken this out and made successful claims?

    Audi magaszine arrived

Really? Do you have a tour bag? Mine fits in ok, I do have a spot of bother with the driver so I take it out of the bag and with everything at the right angle there's enough room for the bag, clubs and trolley.

    S3 Sportback?

The badge in the grill looks a little long to say "S3" and looks more like the "S-Line" one.

    Crap Alarm

lol it all depends on whether you care what you like more than finding out what your alarm sounds like. It's a good test of your cars interior sensors and will give you some idea of what's required to set them off. I'll try the open / shut door test this weekend.

    Crap Alarm

Get in it, arm it, sit there for 20 secs, then start waving your arms about.

Is this the recirc valve on an S3?

    I think you'll find they're probably torx.

    Wipers - Rest

Sounds like you're either on an intermittent setting or there's a problem with your wipers. When I come to a stop at a roundabout or junction and when in the constant on position my non-auto wipers move to the intermittent setting (i.e. they don't stop, they just wipe every 2 seconds or so)...

    Phantom rides again!

lol that's like saying spending money on going to the cinema is a waste of money as you get nothing to show for it. Or spending money going to the zoo with your kids or perhaps even going to an amusement park. The generalisation and boiling down of a scenario to it's constituent parts and then...

    Phantom rides again!

ROFL that's one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard :meeting: . Unless of course Phantom is a recovering alcoholic, in which case..... err...... yeah..... it's money well spent. I'm not convinced that having a picture of a car I owned on a T-shirt I was wearing would ever be something...

Car just tried to kill itself! (Diesel Engine ran away)

Oil tends to burn with blue smoke rather than white. It's definitely going to be something electronic causing it jump like that. Pretty damn dangerous that, I would pound your dealer for a bunch of freebies after that. Imagine the "what ifs"

Oh no 2.0TDi dreaded Coolant Low Warning

If I were you, if the head needed doing then I'd rather they did it within the warranty period opposed to having to pay for it. I would hope that there should be some sort of warranty for the work and any new parts fitted by the dealer.

If only I didn't have to have a hatchback....

lol Anywho, the Alfa looks nice although I would argue it's a little underpowered.

If only I didn't have to have a hatchback....

I take it that's an A3 sportback - my eyes aren't that good at their only purpose, plus my brain isn't that good at feature recognition either. I was aware he had one on order but didn't realise he also currently owned an A3. Thanks for clearing that up.

If only I didn't have to have a hatchback....

What is your current car N8KOW? I think the Alfa is stunning, a gorgeous looking car.

    Switching from superchips to GIAC

It's pretty much all 4wd applications. As a veeeeery general rule expect something in the region of ~20% transmission loss in a 4wd application. The old Vauxhall 4wd system used be the same. Owners, me included used to fit a switch to the 4wd system that allowed you to activate and deactivate...

De-Icer - Which One Do You Use?

... and the DSG of course ;) By the time they enganged 1st that split second delay before pulling away could prove essential. Sorry, no feedback on de-icer as my car is very rarely frozen.
