Im currently trying to solve a intermittent boost problem. My S3 occasionaly boosts properly, and then other times there is nothing there. So i plugged it up to VAGCOM and checked the errors and did some data logging.
The following errors came up:
17963 charge pressure limit...
My S3 has a bit of a problem in that some times it boosts other times it doesn't. Its really starting to **** me off a little now. My first though was the MAF, however unplugging it makes no difference what so ever. I suppose it could still be faulty, as unplugging it isnt the definitive...
Im in Warrington, so just down the road. I've come from a 340bhp 200sx so pretty much in the same situation as you. Ive had my S3 for probaly a little over a month. It is quite a bit slower than my 200 in a staight line, but given a twisty A or B road and I don't think there would be a lot in...
Ah another person who dosn't like mornings. lol I sympathise.
Isn't the S3 limited by the Turbo at the top end of the rev range hence why you will get the boost pressure, and also torque dropping off at higher revs? Audi's standard map shows a nice flat torque curve pretty much like the revo...
Cheer up grumpy gills. If no-one commented on their mods this would be a very quiet forum. :( I think Stewart was commenting on his experience of several maps.
I tell you what, I will make a relivent comment and say that I can recomend the Superchips remap. It seems to give a much bigger...
Got the car back. Its way better than before, certainly recomend the superchip. Anyone any rough ideas what the peak boost pressure is before and after chipping. I imagine it will be pretty much the same for all chips. There is a fair bit more noise from the recirc.
Yeah i can't wait, im like a child at christmas. They are pretty much the biggest name in the generic upgrade bussiness, plus they supply maps to various race series and the police.
Yup my S3 has gone to get its brain moddified. :) My friend who works for a Superchips supplier has taken it with him to work today. So hopefully it should be a little quicker tonight. YEY.
They look pretty nice. I'd personally wind the coilovers up a little too. Black may be the fastest coluor but red is the sexiest. :icon_thumright: Shows the lines of really nice.
Funny you should say that. When i fitted my uprated recirc the other day i thought, 'why have Audi plumbed it in like that?' Ususally the pressurised side is pushing on the bottom of the valve. As the throttle butterfly closes and hence puts the inlet manifold into vaccum, the vaccum pulls the...
I dont see why not. The only thing I experienced when swappin the standard recirc for an atmopheric bov on my 200sx, was that it over-fueled a little when lifting off the throttle, hence the occasional pops and flames from the exhaust. The 200 is roughly the same setup in that it also uses a...
I appear to have fixed it. Took the connector to the coolent sensor off and then put it back on and made shure it was seated properly. and hey presto, temp guage is working again. lol. Think i will be keeping an eye on it though.
Don't know if its a placebo effect but it appears to pull a...
Hi, Im pretty new on here. I've had my 2002 S3 about a week and it already looks like the temp sensor is gone. lol Good start. Yesterday the water temp guage stopped reading. Having a little search through the forum looks like this is what it could be, this sound right? Also feels a bit 'surgey'...
Hi, Im chris. I've had my 2002 S3 for Just over a week now. Really like the car but its feeling a little slow at the moment. Come from a 300+bhp 200sx.
