From what you've descrived I'd be very surprised if the haldex pump wasnt shot. Request an Audi tech take the car out for a test drive and get a second opinion.
We're collecting our S3 Sportback on Fri, cant wait :). Its in the fastest colour too.
Next up is a replacement for my Polo Gti!! After coming out of a remapped M135i, its been a sore one :)
I think the dealers behaviour is really below par here. You're an existing customer (several times over) and it seems your family is well known to them so what are they playing at? Personally, if it were me I'd go to another local dealer and let the current dealership manager know your feelings...
Ouch! Never thought of that. If they do chip and look rubbish I'll swop them out for the carbon jobs.
Thinking of getting the diffuser done at the same time in gloss black. Thoughts?
Hopefully collect the car Friday/ Saturday :)
Ive asked the supplying dealer to paint the mirrors black before collection on a daytona grey Sportback. Just trying to decide if carbon mirrors are a better option...Dealer is paying to paint mirrors though?!
Pretty simple then:
i. Take a risk, remap the car and HOPE nothing goes wrong during the warranty period.
ii. Leave the car stock and be happy :).
iii. Buy an RS3 instead.
I guess I been both lucky and naive in the past but hey ho, life is a journey!
Thanks for the feedback
Thanks for this .
You take your chances when you remap and if you lose you accept the consequences. I guess it comes down to how risk averse you are and I tend to be if I'm honest and have come undone on at least one occasion (Impreza P1 bottom end which cost me £5k)...
Wife's S3 sportback arriving in a week or so. Should we remap or not?
Difficult one for me as it is her car BUT she loves her cars and fast ones but...
I have previously owned two 8P S3s and both were stage 2+ tuned...
I know a bit stupid as the car hasnt even arrived yet :)
The review of these cars is flawed simply because they are road cars and they were tested and evaluated based on their performance on a track before conducting the road test. The only redeeming element here is that they were all tested under the same conditions.
Really sorry to hear your pride and joy has been stolen. The thieving scum should have their hands cut off when caught to prevent them doing it again.
Dont give up on having a nice car because of this set back mate..
