Hi Damian,
Could you let me have a price for a complete set of Bilstein B8's for an Audi A3 2.0TDI FWD 3dr '05 plate.
I will be using them with a set of Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs currently fitted on OEM dampers.
Would you recommend this combination or would another damper be more...
There are many threads on the forum on this subject, and I've read most of them many times as I've changed my wheels recently.

I've tried to document my experience, so maybe it can help others.
The 'classic' A3 wheel...
On the remap question there are loads of threads on this subject. In summary, very few people ever report a problem, and most love the power boost. There are a few stories of premature clutch wear, but few and far between.
Read the threads, talk to a few different companies and choose...
I've seen these coilovers on Ebay at £275 or best offer, and currently there is a group buy on the Golf GTI forum for £150/set!!

Ebay Item no. 170237209455
Anybody heard of these or even used them. Price seems too cheap but worth a look??
I spoke to Stafford Audi, as I also want the three door spoiler they were selling on Ebay.
They are waiting for stock from Germany and will relist as soon as it arrives, so keep an eye on Ebay.
Some good info. and pictures in this thread.

Check out DSAINT's Sport. It's been lowered using the H&R 50mm springs onto 19's and it looks spot-on.
Just an update for anybody else wishing to fit the 18" x 8.0" ET43 wheels to their car.
I had the wheels (genuine RS6's from an A6) and tyres (Falken ZE912 ZIEX - only £58 each from Camskill) fitted yesterday, and I have to say what the hell was I worried about!
As most people have said...
I've found a thread where 'rabs' has fitted 19" x 8.5" ET48 wheels (235/35 tyres) to his A3. This gives effectively the same result as using the 18" x 8.0" ET43 wheels (225/40) I am looking to fit.
Using an online simulator (http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp), this shows that the wheels...
I managed to pick up a set of genuine RS6's (18" 8.0Jx18H2 ET43 Ronal 1291 - from an A6 - only £100 so worth a try) recently for my A3 ('05 TDI Sport -17" Stars 7.5Jx17H2 ET56 Ronal 1132).
Having looked at a few threads, I calculated that they should fit OK (extend 17mm more using a wheel...
Might be worth looking at the KW lowering springs.
These lower by 40mm (25mm on a Sport), so maybe not the need to radically change the car by removing wheel arch liners etc.
The thread is really about a simple way to make the car look right on 18" wheels without the expense of coilovers...
Hi,
Losing the will to live trying to work out what effect some new wheels would have on my car (2.0TDI Sport)!!
My current set-up is standard 17" star alloys with 215/45 tyres (7.5" rims) with offset of ET54 (I think).
My thinking is that if I fit 18" RS6's with 225/40 tyres (8" rims)...
Personally I think 17's are a good choice for your car, as if you go any larger you will need to consider lowering the car otherwise, it will look like a Q7!!
I would stick with Audi style wheels as some of the aftermarket designs just don't work (unless you can afford BBS and the like).

Has anybody used Koni Sport Lowering springs?
I've been looking at the Eibach, H&R, KW springs etc. to lower my A3 Sport (by about 20mm).
These Konis are on offer for only £79 (compared to £140ish for the others) on Fleabay :Flush: (item number: 300144168609).
Seems like a good price as...
I've heard that there is a guide kindly prepared by somebody, which details fitting new springs/shocks.
Does anybody have a copy they could pass on, as I feel like having a go myself.
Thanks.
