    ABS Module Failes - 1.8TQS 0 273 004 284

I'm still on the hunt for an ABS Module. Ive noticed that on most with the same 0 273 004 284 part no. there is another number next to it which seems to vary from module to module. Does this matter, so long as the main part number is correct? Bottom left of this picture.

    ABS Module Failes - 1.8TQS 0 273 004 284

What is the part number on the module Scott? There appears to be a few used on B5s.

    ABS Module Failes - 1.8TQS 0 273 004 284

After the occasional ABS light flickering over the past few months, its now totally failed and is on for good. BBA Reman have said the module is not repairable, therefore I am on the hunt for a module Part No. 0 273 004 284 Does anyone have one / know of a car being broken with this module? I...

    Whining noise - rear end

Weird. This doesn't fill me with hope. Fingers crossed that now its loud enough to be heard properly I can now locate it. Otherwise I'll stick a standard diff mount back on it and sell it on I think. Had enough of this one almost, spent a fortune on chasing faults.

    Whining noise - rear end

You recently changed the diff and mounts didn't you? Did this change it?

    Whining noise - rear end

Thanks for all the input chaps. Whining noise - Engine revs dont seem to effect it, its purely road noise and starts from 10mph! It does seem to be on the driver side rear, which would point to it being a bearing. It doesnt do the 'waaa waaa waaa' thing that Ive had wheel bearings do in the...

    Brake upgrade options.

**Vulture mode** IIRC you have 312mm fronts dont you? if so I'd be interested in the carriers when they come off...

    Whining noise - rear end

Polytek'd the rear diff mount the other day (70shore). Its made a huge improvement! However, it has also made the car make an humming / whining noise from the rear at speeds over 70. It only happens when on the throttle, as soon as you back off it stops. I need to have an have a proper play with...

    Qts disks and calipers

I'm ready to do this to mine now, but am having a real problem finding the carriers for less than £100. Anyone got any links? Euro car parts are doing some good deals on Pagid stuff. I priced up front and rear pads, rear discs, and 312 front discs for around £150!

    Front bumper

Ah yea, and i had the bumper shocks off to put it into 'service mode' so that makes sense. Is there a knack to clipping the sides in at the top? Maybe I just need to give them a harder hit...

    Front bumper

Im a bit confused, yours doesnt look to be clipped into tight under the wing eigher? Mine seems to be securedly 'clicked' in to the top of the brackets, but the gap is deadful. I have all the screws in the arches too. Looking at it, the entire bumper looks to be sitting a little nose down...

    headlight bulb recommendations wanted

Cool - will try the 110% ones. I agree that the lights are still not great, but they are atleast acceptable with the Philips bulbs. I've always just bought the cheapest xtreme visions i can find on eBay, had 5 or 6 sets in different things and never been sent fakes. Only ever had one blow...

    headlight bulb recommendations wanted

Philips extreme vision are the best I've found. Had them in load of things and they have always been brilliant. Out perform the osrams in the reviews too.

    Coolant temp sensor

Not a genuine one. Mine was about £29 inc clip and I ring at the dealers a few months back iirc.

    Cooling hose clip

Excellent, thanks. I noticed it was like that when I was doing the thermostat, so it's only just had fresh coolant, hence not wanting to drain it. Thanks again!

    Cooling hose clip

For some reason my bottom hose clip (1.8TQS) looks like this (onto radiator) Bleurgh! looks at that. No idea why its so rusty, nothing else is! Two questions - 1. Is this the right part: VW AUDI SEAT SKODA RADIATOR HOSE RETAINING CLIP 1J0121142 x 2 GENUINE NEW | eBay 2. Can i pull out the...

    Qts disks and calipers

Just to add, another vote for pagid stuff. Ive been using standard pagid road pads on a light hill climb car to give me a good cold bite, and they work nicely. Also used them on my S8 and they where good. I was planing on trying something a bite more sporty on the A4 as its a bit more lardy...
