Mine was the same, took ages to get to 90 unless in town. Did the thermostat and it sorted it straight away but I also replaced the temperature sender with a genuine part and I reckon that the engine is more willing as a result. Good luck sorting it.

I scoffed at paying over £20 for a plastic cupholder for the arm rest. Found the cardboard cupholders they give you in KFC / McDonalds fit perfectly inside the armrest and hold things a treat. A bit pikey but it works!

I was getting this on my a3- when cold, the engine was occasionally jolting on low throttle. I took out the MAF and cleaned it today with computer cleaning spray (£7 from RS) and replaced the air filter. Felt brand new afterwards, totally smoothed things out. Worth a go.....

Could be your clips on the way out on that side too, mine was slow before the clips broke. The chap who sold me the car had put WD40 around the window to ease the problem but it was only a temp fix. A friend's Golf also suffered from slow windows before the clips broke and the window dropped...

Hi, Got a problem with the radiator cooling fans on my 1.8t - sometimes they start cutting in and out every few seconds, even when the engine is not hot. Noticed it as it was making the headlights blip as they cut in. Any idea what could be causing this? Help much appreciated. J.
