Cheers Chris - sounds like a major re-design which is most unlike most car manufacturers! I don't want to do a full facelift just want to change the featureless early model rear exhaust panel - might be easier to just paint it silver grey so it contrasts with the black colour of the car. I...
Hi, after a number of years of company car imposed 'stay' in BMWland I'm looking at purchasing an A6 Avant TDI Le Mans and have found 2 very respectable ones with sensible mileages nearby but both are pre facelift - can anyone advise if the post 09 S Line/Le Mans diffuser is compatible with the...
Suspect that I have the same problem as the inner edges of both rear tyres are shot to bits. Asfor APEXsprings, I have had them on a number of cars in the past and they have always been alright for me, though I don't mind firm rides. Hope that helps, Dave.
I have a 2001 manual 2.5 TDI avant q sport and am thoroughly impressed with it. Bought with 80K and FASH last September and other than a failed wiper relay at £22 it has been excellent with no major problems. The comfort and driving experience are great and fuel economy is between 30...
Me too, been lurking in he 8P section but my daily driver is an A6 2.5 TDI Quattro Sport Avant. Mmm, big diesels with 4WD and 6 Speed manual boxes, it's enough to get me excited - especially with all this white stuff floating around!
I bought one 6 weeks ago, 2006 mauritius blue with 18 inch BBS splits as standard - so far, bar coil failure under warranty, I am pleased with the way it drives and handles. Newer onesare supposed to have better soundproofing but overall it does what it says on the tin - goes pretty fast and...
Thanks guys, getting the dealer to cover an additional warranty period would be a good idea. They replaced all 4 coils packs, the failed coil pack connector and the fuse box today but still can't verify whether any other consequential damage has occurred. Decision time tomorrow!
I agree in principle but in the failed condition, ie shorted out, it has put 20 amps through the coil transistor circuit and the earth lines albeit temporarily. I'm happy that the main ECU fuse has done its job but am more concerned with the potential damage to everything else on the L87 line...
I know there is much debate about the reliability of VAG coil packs but my latest problem causes me concern. 2 hours after last use with no symptoms, my A3 would't start, it cranked ok and fuel could be smelt but no ignition. On investigating, there was a strong electrical burning smell coming...
