All,
The vanity mirror light above the drivers side sun visor is playing up. The bulb works, but only if I unclip the visor and rotate it back towards the windsreen. It won't illuminate in normal position. A loose wire perhaps? I've unbolted the visor and unhooked it from the roof lining but...
I had the same problem on a previous car. Used a set of those security caps (with a 2-pronged key to tighten/loosen). They weld themselves on if you're not careful. Something to do with the metals reacting or oxidising I believe. Grease the threads before fitting, or just use black plastic...
You happy with the Pirellis? I thought their life was excellent but I never liked them in the wet so changed for Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetrics. Difference in wet is amazing. They're no better, but no worst, than the Pirellis in the dry. Too early to say how long they'll last, but they don't...
I've had two instances of the DPF warning (emissions control) light illuminating. Both time were on a steady motorway cruise and the car is never used for short stop-start journeys. The car didn't go into limp home mode, but the light wouldn't clear following the usual reset procedure. It was...
Funny you should mention it but the problem is ongoing and the car went in last week for further diagnostics. It's been a while, but I've not had chance to take it back since the first visit.
I collected the car late so didn't speak to the technician but the the invoice (FOC) states "Attended...

Useful for refitting the washer hose or repairing/replacing the wash wipe assembly.
Hope someone finds it useful. Regards, Dave
I'm running at standard pressures - 35psi front and 32psi rear. I think Audi have the pressures about right for even wear across the tread.
After a few thousand miles I'm happy with the GoodYears. Wet grip is a definite improvement over the Pirellis. I know new tread always feels fantastic...
Just changed the tyres on my A3 2.0TDI 170 S-Line. I know there's a lot of debate on the forums regarding best tyres, prices, fitters etc so thought I'd post a couple of thoughts.
The stock Pirelli P Zero Rosso (225/40 18) lasted well. They have just been changed at 30,105 (mainly motorway)...
My car had its first service a few weeks back (18500m, AVS, 16 months old) and it came back with an obvious power dip between 1800 and 2500rpm. Only noticable in first gear on a light throttle, but it's really annoying. The car feels reluctant to accelerate from standstill.
It's a 2.0TDI 170...
To anyone who's interested, I dropped the glovebox out earlier today but it's not possible to connect an iPod without the adaptor. The iPod connector is fitted to a PCB rather than a loose lead. In answer to my original question - the unit clips in with 4 plastic tabs from behind so you really...
Thanks for the reply Marc. A number of different adaptors were supplied with the car, but the Nano adaptor doesn't support 2G Nanos - only first gen. The Audi iPod supplement states all generations are supported but this is definitely not correct.
Audi reckons new adaptors are on the way but...
Hi all. My first post, and feel free to move to ICE section if more relevant.
I bought an A3 a few months with iPod adaptor. Didn't have an iPod at the time but the car was taken from national stock and it was already factory fitted as part of the spec.
I've just got round to picking up a 2G...
