They're not heatshields (the fact that they're made of plastic is a bit of a giveaway!) - they're sump covers which improve the aerodynamics of the underneath of the car. Most VAG cars have them and they come loose a lot. Get it fixed quick before the remaining fixings snap off under strain...

Thats because it's only compatible with the old (obsolete) Nano model. It's not compatible with the current model (though neither Audi customer services nor the sales literature mentions this anywhere!). So you thought that by buying a brand new car, you'd get latest technology? Don't be daft...

you'll have a long wait.... it was originally supposed to be out in Jan... then Feb... then Mar... latest outlook is now July, but man on the inside says it's unlikely... Complain to Customer Services, it's not acceptable. You might just be suprised by their response...

It's definately a different armrest in the A3 and A4. The A4 one has illumination and is a different size & shape.

Erm... doesn't that make it less practical then? :scared2: Try transporting a fridge in an A4 saloon. Or a large TV. Or a bird cage. Also, the folding seats are (unbelievably!) an optional extra in the A4, but are standard in the A3.

Agreed. I did 40k in my A4 TDI and 20k in my A3 SB. A4 more refined, feels better built. A3 more "fun", less mature. A4 quieter. A3 more involving. A4 more comfortable. A3 more practical (SportBack versus saloon anyway!). A4 dull to look at A3 Sporty to look at (in SB "Sport"...

Rocking is because the engine is mounted longitudinally not transverse. BMW's, Merc, Rolls Royce... they all do that! I've had an A4 TDI and an A3 TDI. The A4 was much more refined. The A3 was much more responsive. You're comparing two totally different cars.

You'll end up causing some very expensive damage if you put the wrong battery charger on. Not worth the risk IMO. 3 months is nothing... you don't need to charge it.

Be extremely careful using a trickle charger with the battery connected..... there's some pretty complex electronics that won't take too kindly to it...
