never heard of anyone having their ecu nicked so you could be the first i guess!!!! Honestly sounds far to dodgy, could get damaged or lost in the post, dunno who would be liable but insurance for that may get interesting. Plus theres the fact that most places that do re-mapping etc also include...
had a stainless steel cat back system to my 2.8Q yesterday by MIJ, couldn't be happier.£400 all in with a choice of about 50 tailpipes, maybe a bit louder than most people would like on here, but they can do them almost silent if thats what u want, i went for the mid-sport option.
i fitted an induction kit on a 2.8 q and removed it within a week, just doesnt sound right, spend it on a decent stainless if i were u, a tuneable one tho, so u dont sound like the nova driva. Each to their own mind.
the 2.8 makes up for all its drinking problems by jst being so damn smooth to be fair though, granted it isnt a torque steer in ya face grunt machine, but hey, it'll still make you smile going up thru the gears.
Two packets of floss later and the car was badgeless, although it may of been a bit cold when i did it,(2 degrees), still car looks better for it, dont think i'll be removing the rings, mite look a bit too bare. Thanks for the info.J:tumble:
agreed that green filters are the best aftermarket for the job. Having said that I did replace mine with the stock a week or 2 ago to see if there was any difference, sounded a bit different but nowt else. i only put it on coz it will last a lot longer than stock, so thats one thing you dont...
yeh, when i replaced my filter i didnt notice any performance increase. Gives a nice note to the car though, no adverse affects as of yet, but random idling and flat spots are red flags apparently, something to do with the fuel air mixture.
