    Power steering failure???

Thanks, I popped down to my local dealers and the only fluid they sold was the green one. 1 litre was cheaper (£6.90) than I had been quoted at my local factors, so a bit of a result! Topped up the reservoir and see how it goes now

    Power steering failure???

Sorry if this is hi-jacking the thread, but what sort of power steering fluid does an A6 use. Can't find any in Halfrauds and my local factors didn't know if was something special - of course the manual manages to not actually mention what is required.

    Stuck rear seat belt

We have a 2006 A6 S-line, drivers side, rear seat belt has 'stuck' ½ way out and won't go back or out any further. Any one any ideas how to get to the reel mechanism, as the seats don't fold down, so it's not easily accessible . . .

    Brake light bulb removal

Cheers for that, I'll give it another look tomorrow (too dark now!). Of course there is nothing in the manual about any form of bulb replacement, it recommends you take it to the dealer !!

    Brake light bulb removal

I know it sounds odd, but how do you change the bulb on the rear of a A6 saloon? I've removed the drop down panel and can see the back of the unit, but there doesn't seem to be any simple way of getting the bulb out - any idea anyone ?

    Millers Oils Power Sport 4

Can't say I noticed a difference in soot, but it does seem to reduce the amount of exhaust smoke emitted. Forte products are normally only available to the trade, I know the local rep. so can get the odd single product rather than having to buy a full case, and the results from the forte diesel...

    Parking sensor problems

Has it been wet when you last drove it ? If so, could be a connection problem . . . but I know what you mean, the same symptoms happened to me, intermitant before stopping altogether

    Millers Oils Power Sport 4

I've used it in my A6 (55k miles) and in my Seat Ibiza TDi (less than 6k miles) and it made more of a difference in the A6 then the Seat (which I expected). More mpg, better top speed, and eventually better throttle response. Forte additives are better though (http://www.forteuk.co.uk/) .

    Parking sensor problems

Same happened to our 53 A6, I was going to look at it, but the front end of the car got wiped out by a bad parker, and as if by magic when the car came back from the repairers, they were working again!! I think I'd check all the connections around the front bumper first (more dirt etc I would...

    Flatspot / Wavering Power Delivery

Wavering and flatspot was cured with the EGR valve replacement, but the car was still making a LOT of black smoke. Been back to the dealers today and the bottom turbo hose was split causing the car to overfuel, hence the black smoke. Car is cured now after that has been replaced, lovely smooth...

    Flatspot / Wavering Power Delivery

£216 later and one new EGR valve later the problem seems cured. Thanks for the help in pointing me in the right direction.;) On a totally unrelated point has anyone used 'Millers Diesel Power Plus' fuel additive - comments??

    Flatspot / Wavering Power Delivery

It's been to the dealers and hooked up to the 'puter, no faults found. They checked all the vacuum hoses and applied a vacuum to the EGR unit (which the tech reckoned could have moved the valve past it normal range), which seemed to fix the problem initially, but after a run to North Wales and...

    Flatspot / Wavering Power Delivery

Sorry - I have no idea what an N75 is  ? A friend did suggest it could be the exhaust recirculation valve, but couldn't say without seeing it. (Edit : The N75 is the VW/Audi part identification number for the wastegate by-pass regulator valve.) Google is my friend ..... Is this...

    iPod control

New to this forum, so don't know if this has been asked before ... I have a 2003 A6 with the original 'symphony' 6 CD changer/cassette/radio and wondered if anyone can recommend any inexpensive iPod nano control system. I currently use an FM tuner, but it runs the battery out quite quickly, so...

    Wavering Power / Flatspot

New to this list, so I hope this post is in the right area ... I have a 2003 Audi A6 TDi about 50,000 miles on the clock and serviced less then 1000 miles ago (at dealers). When the throttle is constant (or with cruise on) the power delivery is not very constant, revs don't change but you can...
