Shameless plug - my 2.5 TDI for sale

Yeah sorry, B6! Fat finger moment. The very great majority of my mileage is motorway at 70 mph typically for two and a half or three hours. Have been very pleased with the economy but the high mileage makes the depreciation unpalatable! There's a 2003 2.5 TDI quattro with 57k miles on the...

    Reg. Plate Question

A metoo post, but I reckon you should give it back if you don't care about it, but make her pay the fees, do the paperwork and pay for new plates for you. Meanwhile, give one of the reg transfer companies a ring and see what it's worth!

    The McCanns

    £30 fine :(

I see a few (modern) cars with the really old style black with white lettering. As far as I know, that's illegal too. My father in law is a driving instructor and he says there's no law about font, only size and spacing. Anybody got definitive views on those two points?

If you kill someone in your car - runaway

At least on these Police... Camera... Action type programmes they have stopped giving a summary at the end of the programme - used to make me want to put my foot through the tv. "The unisured driver who was twelve times over the drink driving limit when he killed a group of nuns and reversed...

    Cyclists.....

On a bicycle you emit no carbon monoxide, carbon, soot, unpleasant fumes, etc. and you don't damage the road surface. Why then should you pay a road tax? I pay my income tax and council taxes; that pays for the roads in my area. My car is taxed based on the amount of CO2 it emits - I don't know...

Difficulties starting engine on a slope?

Thanks but no smell of fuel under the lid. have resolved the problem by not parking facing uphill! Sometimes it takes two goes to start, when it has been switched off, eg. at long traffic lights etc. I've just learned to live with it.

bio -diesel what do you think?

Biodiesel is fine, it just depends what percentage. Many forecourts are on B5 (ie 5%) now anyway and pocketing the tax break (20p per litre) Truck manufacturers will permit anything up to B10 with no modifications or changes to service intervals, warranty etc. and those are some serious mileage...
