Woo noise on BRE engine 2.0 tdi a6

I have a 2007 A6 with the 2.0tdi BRE engine, just over 116k. I have recently noticed a weird woo-ing kind of noise from the engine, almost sounds like the engine is haunted! It only happens when the engine is warmed up. It is most noticeable at low speeds/rpm, but I think that's because there...

How did you get the circuit board out of the throttle body? I can't seem to get it out! Cheers

    Mountain Bikes

My GF bought a Carrea Kraken from Halfords, they had 20% off at the time. I have to say they are not bad, a little heavy, but what can you expect for the money. If you start using it a little more, I would reccommend upgrading the wheels, I gave her my old XT/Mavic XC717's and it saved loads...

Bluetooth sound quality - Bath tub?

Try moving the phone around in the car, flipping it onto it's front etc. If you can get a better link btween the phone and the receiver the sound quality should improve. Iphones bluetooth is rubbish, they have a decent chip inside but apple have turned it all off!! Makes me cross, when it...

    TDI 170 vs TDI 140

Well, I have to say I'm a quattro convert! I'm trying also to decide on my next car, and the 140/170 TDQ is one of those on my list, the quattro option is a must have for me. I agree completely if you are sensible you can drive high torque without any dramas, however I love the grip of 4wd...

urgent help needed s3 rear spring

Yup, it's not a difficult job. I did mine this weekend. It's easier however if you jack up the car and put an axle stand in just in front of the rear wheel, you can then jack up the hub to compress the spring slightly and make it easier to undo the damper. This also helps when reattaching as...

Do TT Quattro springs fit the A3 TQS?

Funnily enough, I have just spent an hour trawling through ETKA looking at something very similar! I'm trying to find replacement rear springs for my 2000 S3, the only exact matches (with five blue paint blobs) are the TT quattro (to 2002) and a golf sedan (2000) model type "PR-1JV" if that...

    Common overheating problem

Nope, not really. Not unless you are a competent mechanic! The parts are only £30ish for pump, but it's all the labour of the cambelt that costs the money.

    Common overheating problem

Sounds like the water pump to me, mine cost £300 as I had the cambelt done at the same time. The Cambelt as far as I'm aware has to come off to replace the pump, so for an extra few pounds it's worth getting the lot done.

    Standard Springs

ECP don't do them, I rang up on Sat morning. They only do lowering kits, GSF don't seem to have anything listed?

    Standard Springs

Thanks for that. Trouble is, I have yet to find an online store that stocks standard springs :( Audi want £60.50 for each spring!

    Standard Springs

Yes, it is an option to get lowering springs, but I think the car will be easier to sell if it's completely standard.? Besides, I don't want to replace the springs with lowered ones only to find the dmapers are past their best and ruin the handling....

    Standard Springs

Just found out that my rear spring has snapped, so I'm after a pair of original/standard springs. Is Audi the only place you can get them? Everywhere else only seems to supply lowering springs. I would consider lowering, but as far as i'm aware you need to do the whole lot, dampers, roll...

    Recall

Well, it's all been sorted now :) Compete new rear hubs and all the associated parts of the repair kit. The car was four-wheel aligned and washed all for free too! Corners better than it ever has :)

    TDi CAT

Yes the turbo should help soften things, I did it on a N/A engine. The hollow metal box resonated quite a bit! On mine the honeycomb was very brittle and had collapsed blocking the exhaust exit, I could have drilled a hole through, but if it broke again, I might be back to square one...

    TDi CAT

I can't say for a VAG car, but I did it with an iron bar on an old fiesta once. Makes it damn noisey though...

    Recall

Yes indeed, mine does. I'm suprised however it's taken seven years to locate my car for a recall! I wonder who would have paid out if it had caused an accident?

    Recall

The dealer was Vindis in Cambridge. 01223 414181 should put you through to reception. The service desk said it was the rear ball joints, I have no idea if the rear track arm bushes are subject to a recall? I thought bushes were treated as wear and tear items (subject to a typical estimated...
