Just an update from me on this issue.
I pursued the issue with Audi UK, but got no where. They contacted the dealer (Audi Macclesfield) and Audi technical, and Audi technical (supposedly) checked the dealer had followed the procedure of applying the firmware to the gearbox correctly. Result...
@stubbly46
Sadly, my car drives completely different now. And not better at all.
The engagement/disengagement of the clutch is just not right. Especially at crawling speeds.
Setting off quickly (without launch control) is slow/hesitant, until the clutch engages properly.
Maybe the dealer is...
I think the update is more than that tbh. I strongly believe, they’ve limited the performance / torque of the gearbox, to stop pump failures. And save themselves the cost of replacing pumps/gearboxes.
Hi
It’s a very very long time since I’ve posted in this forum. So “hello” if anyone remembers me.
I had this recall update done in late December 22, and it immediately changed the drivability of the car. So much so, I’m back at Audi today to see if it can be reversed. It can’t. And as others...
That looks superb. I like the gloss to the wrap, from the pics it looks OEM. But £340...is that a good price? Don’t know how much wrapping costs.

Just reading this again. Mcaddy spotted when he was developing this that the checksums were not checked by Audi, but coded the correction anyway. I've never tried his app, but may give it a go.

Thanks GeoffT. That’s good info.
I was just about to update my car, but thought I’d check this thread first.
We definitely need an app now to update this categories.pc file and do the checksums. It’s all getting a bit fiddly.
During my visit to the dealer for an oil change, I got them to check for a software update to the MMI and there wasn’t any. They confirmed that for my chassis / model year the subwoofer option is not available.
Mine is a Tech Pack car.

Yes. Mine was just an “inspection with oil change(flexible)” service. Not the major inspection service.
But in my case this wasn’t the cars very first service. That was done at approx 3000 miles, just before I collected the car (nearly new).
On my previous S3 though the major inspection...
Had mine done today.
Interim Service (ie oil and filter change) £187 at Macclesfield Audi.
I can’t believe you’ve been quoted £400.
Remember a lot of these dealership chains use a central call centre for bookings and in my experience they are useless and don’t know what they are talking...
Quite happy with the change.
This morning it was very gloomy and snowing, and the headlights still came on.
Also yesterday at dusk, the lights came on, just at the time I would have put them on manually.
Agree with auto wiper comments - waste of time and tend to wipe when not required to...
Latest information I have on this from my dealer is that they've had a number of enquiries about the subwoofer control being missing. So they contacted Audi Milton Keynes Technical who in turn contacted Germany Technical, and apparently the subwoofer control was purposely left out of certain...
Since having this car, I’d noticed that the headlights nearly always seemed to be on - even when it was pretty-much broad daylight.
I just put it down to just the light sensor being over-sensitive, until yesterday when I was just browsing through the menus under Car Settings.
So apologies to...
The other week my wife was driving the car and couldn’t work out how to get off the map screen and get the radio screen to appear. (I know [emoji23])
The result is a load of random “destination flags” corresponding to where she’s tried to activate the radio but instead created a coordinate...
Thats a worrying story for anyone who has purchased a car under Audi Approved Used. Who knows what they or anyone else has done to the car previously.
Was it a dealership car? i.e. ex-demo Although reading your post again, you say it was a year old, so unlikely that it was one of their demo...
Has anyone noticed that the speed camera locations (using PocketGPSWorld database) are "out" by approx 50-100 meters or so?
Just wondering if its the accurary of the data relating to just cameras in my area, accuracy of the data in general, or whether the GPS is "out".
Cheers
AL
My car does this too. A very slight lurch/jerk on down shifts. Almost like in a manual car if you let the clutch out to fast (if you down shift through the gears).
Noticed that it really gets confused at roundabouts in third, if your speed is just at that point where it decides to change to...
