    God damn speeding ticket

... but the child he hits next time he does it won't be better off, will they. Remember Rick106's first post? "I only spotted him when he looked down at his gun to see my speed" So if that was a child, he wouldn't have seen him until it was too late either. I'm sorry if people don't like my...

    Dealing with dealers!

I worked out the price of my car on DriveTheDeal, then e-mailed my local dealer with the spec I wanted, told them the DriveTheDeal quote, and they came back with a quote that was within £200 of the DriveTheDeal quote, and a reasonable p/x value for my old car. No questions, no ifs or buts...

    God damn speeding ticket

Why are you trying to avoid the points, when you've just admitted on a public forum that you broke the speed limit by 50%? Sorry, but it really annoys me when people come on forums openly saying they broke the speed limit and want to try and wriggle out of it. Be a man, admit to it and hold you...

I've had mine for about 9 months now, and it's never stalled.

    Ashtray removal

VAGParts sell the tray on it's own I seem to remember.

Selling my car before it's been delivered?!

Ah, fair enough then. I'd imagine you could get more than the £20k Audi are offering if you sold privately. Have you tried contacting the dealer who you are going to be buying the new car from? They might give you a decent p/x deal, even if you end up driving round in it for a month or so.

Selling my car before it's been delivered?!

Just cancel your order and loose your deposit. Probably the cheapest options for you, and the least hassle.

A3 has gone for its 1st service......

That sounds really expensive, then I thought back. My last car, an Ibiza FR TDi, had to be serviced every 10k miles, and cost me about £150/£160 each time, so works out about the same really when you look at it like that. Hopefully my TDi A3 will go for a similar distance before needing a service.

    Company Car or Private Purchase

Mine is a private cash purchase, as were my previous three cars. Why did I buy new? Well, partly just because we could, and so that we could get the exact spec we wanted. I probably wouldn't have paid full list price for the car, but with 10% off list, and leather seats arriving for free as...

    Latest Concert/Symphony II + MP3 CD players

None of the external CD changers have MP3 compatibility, it's only the head units themselves. You can plug an external device like an iPod or other MP3 player through the CD changer socket though using a suitable adapter.

    New Philips Product (lighting)

They're very good :) I've been using them in my A3 for a few months now, and they are so bright compared to the standard bulbs. Even in dim daylight, I'm amazed how many times I see the reflection of the lights in road signs, never noticed that before with the old bulbs.

Could someone fill me in on what the main...

My guess is that it is the cost difference that makes it £400 more expensive. It is possible that the S3 wheels are actually cheaper to produce/cheaper for Audi to buy in than the S-Line wheels are. I've got no proof to back it up, but I wouldn't be surprised. Also, when you are deciding which...

    Latest Concert/Symphony II + MP3 CD players

Can't remember seeing a limit, all I remember seeing is a limit of directories being nested no more than 8 deep. Mind you, I doubt you'd want that many in root anyway, seeing as you can only really fit about 14 albums on a CD anyway.

    Can I justify 30k on an S3?

I know I wouldn't spend £30k on a small hatchback. To me, at the end of the day if you are doubting that you should be spending a certain amount of money on something, then you probably shouldn't be buying it. If you can afford it, and you want it and are happy to pay that much, then go for...

This is my A3 order for tomorrow.....

Agreed, exactly why I didn't spec the non-smoking pack. You can always buy the 'tray' from VAGParts at a later date if you wanted.

This is my A3 order for tomorrow.....

I never said Bose didn't sound amazing. I said the standard set-up is pretty good compared to other cars, and better than others that I've owned, so didn't see a need for Bose. Unless you've owned all my previous cars, I'm not really sure what you can be disagreing with.

This is my A3 order for tomorrow.....

Personally, we had the parking sensors fitted for the missus. The A3 is easy enough to park without them, but it does mean you can get a lot closer to objects than without them, handy for tight spots. Personally, I didn't bother with iPod prep with the Symphony III, as you already have a 6 disc...

    Headlight Removal

Don't know if it'll work the same on the A3's, but on the Mk4 Ibizas, which all suffered really badly from condensation and misting, the 'solution' was to drill a small hole in the removable plastic cover on the rear of headlights, and put a small rubber grommet in them, so water couldn't get...

    Trax 2007 Silverstone

Went last year and two years before that with a now defunct club. It's an 'OK' show as far as I'm concerned. We might take our forum/club there next year, but this year we are concentrating on Edition38 which is also this weekend. I think I'd get bored going every year, but once every two years...
