It’s your engine ECU that’s on its way out.

When the car won’t start does the radiator cooling fans kick in when the ignitions left on for about 10 / 15 seconds, also when it wont start does the engine management light not come on at all when the ignition is switched on but the glow plug light stays on all the time ?

Could be an earth issue from the battery to engine, put the black jump lead on the battery and other end to the engine and see if it starts.

Theres one 07 plate sline on the trader with Amber which was registered 03/2007 so its looking like early 07 are affected too with the changeover.

I think it depends on the age, up to 56 reg they will be amber and 07 onwards clear, just what I've notice when seeing other b7's but I could be wrong.
