Fair 'nuff! I'm outgunned... I notice a diff on economy but not really performance. Having said that, I very rarely boot my car hard... Once in a while only!:sly:
Hi esteemed and knowledgeable owners...
Can anyone tell me for sure where the alarm horn is on an S3? ETKA suggests its under the bonnet between the wipers, but many people say its in the boot under the amp!:uhm:
Anyone know for defo?
Thanks v much!
Peice of cake mate! Anytime you need Audi parts, sod going to an Audi dealer... Talk to a guy called Martin at www.vagparts.com (number on the site). He is VERY knowledgeable (he even is able sometimes to identify parts by the number from memory). Their prices are consistantly significantly...
If the light is ON, the ESP is OFF... If when you start the car, the light is ON and pressing the ESP button doesn't switch the light OFF, then chances are you have a faulty yaw sensor <see my earlier post>
Hmm... Well, I can't really argue that. Mine does not sound rough and it certainly does warn of low oil.
Totally and completely agree about the need to check oil regularly. It does seem to be the case that the S3 gets through it somehow rather smartish!
Dude... I know SOME things as fact... This I wasn't sure about, hence the "am I wrong" question at the end... I was asking a question not making a statement. OK, so I'm wrong. Thanks for the answer! Make sense?!
Right dude, under the bonnet above each of the headlights are two white plastic screws. turn the lights on and use an electric screwdriver to tweak them. They will adjust the lights. One up & down, one side to side. Note that its VERY easy to get them misaligned! Shine them at a wall or summat...
The economy is instantly realised. For this reason, I doubt that there's a performance difference after a few tanks. I think more likely the S3 adapts its timing to suit the octane of the fuel to equal the same performance levels. Probably anyone who believes there's a performance difference is...
Interesting subject this! If I use a full tank of 95RON fuel, its all good... Now... If I fill up on a tank of 98RON fuel, the performance is precisely the same... Absolutely unchanged -anyone who says different is probably kidding themselves BUT there is one biiiiig difference... Using the...
Cost me £90 from an Audi main dealer.... No problem at all! My advise is not to attempt it yourself. I have no idea at all what kind of oil you need but more importantly, if you get it wrong, you call balls up the Haldex -and that will cost a billion dollars to fix!
OK -first things first.... The light is ON when the traction control is OFF.... This is a very very common fault. You have a busted lateral acceleration sensor (yaw sensor). Use a VAG-COM to confirm. It will say "implausible reading - lateral acceleration sensor". You will need to replace this...
I had exactly the same. Same design fault as with a Golf. If you ask an Audi dealer they'll go "Oh, yeah... know about that". Two little plastic clips at the bottom of the window. One breaks off. Very common design flaw. If you feel confident to do this fix yourself, DO IT! It cost me a billion...
I'll tell ya right now it ain't a facelift model... Wrong badge and the centre console is wrong for a 225 model.
Want proof? No problem!
Open the boot and take out the spare wheel. In the spare wheel well is a sticker with a load of model codes and stuff on it. Somewhere on there it'll say...
Agree. Its probably this. Could also be a suspension bush. I suspect it won't be dangerous, but it'll be one of those things that you should probably sort now else it'll get worse and could become dangerous or cause probles with your tyres wearing unevenly.
Guys, I dunno what your on about!! My S3 never sounds "rough" or "like a diesel"... Not even on the coldest of days!! If yours does, then there's something up I suggest! Possibly you have the wrong oil in it.
As for what oil to use, there's a sticker on the bonnet lip telling you what. I can't...
 That is SUCK-TACULAR!! Can't believe it!! That's terrible! I was getting ready for people to say £10k, perhaps £9.5k... Still, you have a lot more miles than me...
