1.8T engines are bad for the oil pick up pipe clogging and on occasions the oil pressure is too low. This brings on the red warning light though.

it was a sheared pulley key. All sorted and started no problem.

Thanks guys. I'll check the timing tonight. The cambelt tensioner failed a few month ago and i had to rebuild top end replacing all the exhaust valves. Belt looks ok, but sheared pulley key could be the answer, the pulley may have gradually crept round so far that the timing is out...

My 1.8TQS cut out an now wont start. Just before it cut out it was really down on power and struggling to climb a hill. I have checked the cam timing and its fine, the fuel pump is working, it is getting a spark but still wont fire. I have plugged in my freeware VAG-COM and it doesn't find...

Hi I have discovered a crack in my Exhaust Manifold. Can anyone tell me the part number of the manifold. My car is a A4(B5)1.8TQS with 180bhp AJL engine. I can get a manifold from a 150bhp A4, but i am not sure if its the same. Thanks in advance.

Thius happened to me. Seems common. Easy to fix though. Just take it off, weld it and fit it back on. Job done!

The same thing happened to my 1.8T QS last night. I will be taking the exhaust off tonight to weld the flange back on. Seems to be a common problem!

Hi Does anyojne have any idea how much brake fluid the system on my A4 will hold? I am planning to change it and upgrade to a higher spec fluid.

I managed to reset it last night. I think i was holding in both the clock button and odometer button at the same time, when i turned the ignition on. Thanks anyway.
