Car was found this morning, unfortunately burnt out with the wheels missing.Still not sure how they took it as all keys were accounted for and the car was parked in a place where it wouldn't usually be. Owner was in a meeting for 2 hours and it was taken in that time. All that for a set of...

    SEAT Altea Hot Starting Issues

I can't believe that a starter motor that was on it's way out over two years ago would still work today. I've tested the crank speed whilst it won't start and it is around 320rpm, so I think we can discount the starter motor anyway.

    SEAT Altea Hot Starting Issues

That is not really something I can easily test, as it is only with the first turn of the key that it happens. That pointed me to immobiliser issues, but everything checks out as it should there, so I'm at a loss. I should point out that this isn't my car and that it has been doing this for over...

    SEAT Altea Hot Starting Issues

I'm not sure when the battery was last changed. I shall enquire! The crank seems to be strong though, and will turn over at a decent speed for as long as I dare to try when it won't start.

    SEAT Altea Hot Starting Issues

I have here a SEAT Altea that has been to many different places to try and sort this problem, including both SEAT and VW main dealers and specialists. It even spent 3 weeks and an engineering college! It will start first time every time when cold. But after it has been run and left for a...

    It's all gone wrong!!!

You can re-sync the key without VCDS, yes, but the car had actually forgotten the key - none were registered to the module, so it had to be relearnt. I tried finding the temp sensor settings on VCDS, but I have no idea where to find it! Any ideas? So far it hasn't been displayed again, so...

    It's all gone wrong!!!

All done now! Stupid ****** thing had forgotten the remote, so I used VCDS to pair them up again! As for the temperature read out, I'm still working on that. It has stopped displaying anything again.....

    It's all gone wrong!!!

Just a quick update. Haven't managed to hook the car up yet as the Mrs is out in it. The temperature display has started working, albeit showing -27° so I'm guessing the sensor has to be left for a while to calibrate. If only I had known that before I blamed it on the Module 35 code change, my...

    It's all gone wrong!!!

Having a play about with the codes in VCDS, I changed the central locking to one click open for all doors, and also tried a few codes to change the clock to 12hr. Both of these worked, however the 12hr clock came with other unwanted options, so I reverted the code to it's original. The problems...

I like it. But that is what the standard Passat should have looked like, I don't see the point of a variant.

    Knocking from underside

Found out what it was. The useless cowboys as the local indy hadn't tightened the drivers side rear calliper properly and it had become detatched from the car! By **** am I angry! :nunu:

    Knocking from underside

Did you get any closer to finding out what this was? Mine started doing it today without any warning. Had the rear pads changed a week or so ago, but I'm not convinced this is where the noise is coming from. It does sound like the exhaust knocking on something, although when I wiggled the...

Just a little mix for you...

Another slightly different one if you'd care to give it a listen! The transition between tracks 1 and 2 is a little ropey, but that (honestly!) happened when splitting the tracks with Nero! There are also a few 'hicks' where my old processor was giving up the ghost! And yes, I admit, I did...
