    Screen wash leak

Hello folks, hope you're all cool  I've not posted for a while because my A3's been very good to me (and I've been generally pretty busy otherwise) but it's only gone and spoilt the mood by deciding to use up all the nice screenwash I put in. When I fill it up I can see drips coming...

    Recommended

:moa: Hello again, not posted for a (long) while! I've still got the A3, still love it and (fingers crossed) it's going great. Just thought I'd say that the boys at Vagtech sorted the car out a treat the other week, doing a 70k service with cambelt and Haldex for me. I'd thoroughly...

Strange - couldn't get in gear

I had a moderately eventful journey home from work this evening. Actually, the journey itself was unremarkable but there was a bit of a saga before I could set off. My car's been an absolute gem, no problems at all, and the journey in to work today was no different. But when I came to go...

    Hats off to Autoglass

Just wanted to give Autoglass a  as I called them on Friday night about the large crack in my windscreen and they booked me in for a Saturday afternoon screen change. The chap called me a few minutes before arriving, got stuck in and had the whole job done in about half an hour...

    Santa Pod = loud

I work about two miles away from Santa Pod. According to their website, today and this weekend sees: They're so loud, it sounds like they're right outside the window! I can only wonder what they must sound like close up. Good job it only takes them about four seconds to get down the strip!

    Longest servicing interval ever?

Well, I don't know what oil Bedford Audi put in when they did the service, but if the DIS is to be believed it's going to be in there for a while!

Full alloy wheel clean (56k beware)

Boy did I have a busy day yesterday. It was the first free weekend I've had in ages where the weather hasn't been completely awful so I thought I'd get round to properly tackling my speckly alloys. Here's an idea of the grime I was up against. So off came the wheel - inside was even...

    Rear brakes - urgent!

So I'm doing rear pads and discs. Can I get the caliper off? Can I heck! The guide pins just seem to turn and turn forever. Please tell me I'm being stupid before I overdose on tea trying to figure this out!

    Zymol silencing the public

It appears that Zymol have been sending out nasty letters to people to ask them not to talk about their products in public, even to recommend them on good faith. There's some discussions on DW. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=36952...

    Suspicious car at Liverpool airport

Liverpool airport is closed due to a suspicious car. Apparently it has tax, insurance and the stereo is still in it. :jester: :jester:

    Modern miracle

Without wanting to get too soppy, but with all the **** in the news at the moment I thought I'd post this story which will hopefully go some way to maintaining your faith in humanity and what we can achieve. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_yorkshire/6262328.stm "Doctors in Leeds...

    Sportback courtesy car

While my 8L A3 was in the hands of Bedford Audi to have the drivers' door lock mechanism replaced I got to bomb around in an '07 2.0 TDi Sportback. I did ask the lady from servicing if I could have an RS4 as a courtesy car, but apparently they were all out already :( Still, the A3 was rather...

    Trainers

Not of the personal variety, but of the footwear type :) Does anyone else here have a penchant for trainers that sometimes get them worried? Cleaning out my room I found a pair under the bed I'd forgotten I had and threw out two pairs because the idea of having seven pairs was frightening...

    Cooking

Does anyone else here fancy themselves as a bit of a chef? I love spending time in the kitchen and being "between jobs" as I am at the moment I took time yesterday to tidy up the kitchen and make some bread (and I didn't cheat and use a bread maker either). I've just polished off the last of...

    Haynes Manual

Has anyone got a Haynes manual for the A3 8L? I'm thinking about getting one; is it any use or is the A3 one like most Haynes manuals these days (i.e.: a list of torque settings and not much more)?

Why I love my Symphony II

The radio is awesome! I love the right-hand knob that scrolls through all radio stations that have a decent signal. I've no idea how it works; I guess it scans in the background and remembers the stations. Driving in London you pick up soooo many! I drive along listening to the radio and...
