    A3/S3 delivery lead time?

Thanks. The prices of used 21 plate S3’s don’t seem too bad in the context of the recent price increase and ongoing delays. Think I’ll just go that way, not patient enough to wait that long for new shiny things!

    A3/S3 delivery lead time?

What would be a realistic lead time for an order placed this month?

    VAG COM - errors

You can clear them using the shareware version. ICE, have you tried posting in the VAG-COM section. The Ross-Tech guys keep and eye on that and their diagnostic knowleadge is formidable.

    VAG COM - errors

You can't clear a fault that hasn't been fixed; the sensor will simply keep detecting the fault and sending the relevant signal to the ECU that stores it as the code. The only reason you've been able to clear other faults is that they have stopped being detected.

Getting car through MOT without ABS

Sorry, it needs to be fixed. Also you can't 'pull' the bulb on the dash, it'll be a soldered LED (i think).

    K03s fitted

Haldex 4 wheel drive system is a heavy old thing... 10bhp differance between two dyno's in not wildly differant, that's only a 5% differance on a 200bhp car. Believe me a 5% error on an RR is not significant. Not that any RR can give an absolute value, there are just too many variables...

    DeCat pipe arrived!

Fair enough, if you are satisfied. Just cautionary notes as you are going beyond the normal chip and exhaust tune that the majority take their cars too. If i come across the article i read on why a turbo needs a certain amount of back pressure then i'll post it up. 240bhp/250lb_ft...

    DeCat pipe arrived!

The definition of premature failure is gonna depend on the amount of miles you do. If you only do 6k/year then you may never get the turbo to the point of failure. It's something worth considering if your blower is already high mileage or you plan to clock a lot of miles on it. Not having any...

    DeCat pipe arrived!

The turbo still requires a degree of back pressure. The exhaust can actually be too free flowing. IIRC the reduced back pressure affects the sealing and leads to poor lubrication and premature turbo death. Also does your car have a wide-band lambda? Two problems here, one you'll get a CEL...

    Changing ECU's for Remap...

To get the superchips map off you'd need to flash the ECU back to the OE map. Due to the nature of the non-DBW ECU, this needs doing on the bench. Simple job, should take a tuner 5 mins, but i've heard people charging £50 for doing it. If you were wanting a 'new' map for the K03s, the tuner...

    Abs fault

What fault do you have with your ABS?
  15. T

    Abs fault

Yes, you can. But i'd assumed that the majority of people would just inspect the fuse to see if it had blown or not ;)
  16. T

    Abs fault

Quite often the fuses on the battery box don't actually blow... Water can get between the battery and the fuse box and cause things to melt, the fuses may appear intact but the contacts beneath them may be damaged.

    Abs fault

what's the code on VAG-COM? You looked at the fuse-box on top of the battery?

A3 1.8TS - Should water pump be changed with timing belt?

Ah, gambling man then? I like it :) Perhaps we could start a Water-Pump Sweep Stake with variations on when and how it fails? I call dibs on 'Catastrpohic Failure within 6000miles/12 Months' :jester:

snap! crack! bye bye driveshaft! new arb? what? help?

S3 and 1.9TDi have differant ARB configuration so R32 is not a straight fit to TDi. You may be able to change your drop links/ARB mounts but surely if it's only £100 for a modified ARB that is designed to fit your setup then that is easier/no more expensive?
