I've done a whole load more testing on my set up and it seems things are mostly working as they should, apart from the actual level of voltage to the cup light. Its only 0.65v when the lights are on, when I think it should be 12v. Turn the lights off and the 0.65V decreases to zero as one might...

As far as the footwell lights go I am all good with them wired into pin 72 in the 73c BCM connector (the most accessible one thankfully).

Fair point and I will if I can't crack it but I would also like to understsnd how it all works on an OEM basis. I am pretty sure I have a simple coding issue and its all wired up now so I would like to rule that out first. Adam

I installed my cupholder light today but can't get it to light up. Its definitely in the correct pin on the J519 but no joy. I suspect I am missing something in the coding - does anyone know the correct coding please? Thanks Adam

Thanks for your response. I was being dull and testing it with the lights off!! It works fine and yes I have a brightness dial in the mmi. What i dont have is the picture of the car with a choice of opfions for footwell, door etc, just a single dial, as if they would all be set together not...

Just to clarify on this, the lights are now working on door open. The ring wasn't properly attached to the earth wire so I resoldered and am in business. However they dim and quickly go off once the ignition is turned on. Could this all simply be because I only have a midline BCM? Thanks Adam
