We had it done on my wife's A4; cost about £500 IIRC and was done by York Audi. It is a B6 model and she had it done when our son was in his rear-facing car seat.
We have the non-FSI 2.0 petrol as well as a TDi; the TDi is torquier and more economical but the petrol is quieter and performs just as well though you have to rev it to get the best from it. It's not crap per se, it's just that it is in the shadows of the what is an excellent range of engines.
Not sure, and I've not yet had time to check properly. I will have another pop at it and see what happens; if I just need a new bulb I might end up fitting the extra kit to the wife's A4 or selling it.
I would love a performance car like an S3 or S4 but do 35,000 miles a year so an LPG one is something I have considered. Just put off a bit due to some of the horror stories.
With the best will in the world, a chipped TDi just isn't the same.
My cheapy kit was from dianeshop (or something similar). They weren't listing any H7s when I looked so I've ordered the replacement from happygirlined (again, something similar). I believe it's the same seller but reg'd under another name.
Hopefully it'll be here within the next couple of days.
One of my ballasts appears to have gone too - bulb fires up when switched on, then goes out. Didn't ****** last long - maybe a month.
I have ordered a new kit from China/HK - same as last ones. Which means I can fix it, and have a spare bulb/ballast in addition to the spare bulb from the...
Have you sorted it ? I had one like this - I tried bashing it with a flat-bladed screwdriver so that it wedged in the head, and then turning it, but to no avail. In the end I used the 'driver to break the plastic bit on the headlight that was secured by the bolt; it was still held in place...
Been there several times; utterly useless. My colleague has found the same.
One example - car squealing when turning L or R. Described symptoms. Collect car, find they have fitted new PAS pump; drive car out of car park - same symptoms. Go back in, find they haven't even test driven it...
The other day I was wondering what had happened to my old cars. The following day I saw one of them - a BMW I sold a few months ago to a guy in the Manchester area - it was in a car park in York, near where I live.
As I drove past it I thought, "that looks just like the one I had" as it had...
