It seems unlikely that there wouldn't be any engine damage, if your handy with the spanners then a straight engine swap would probably be the way to go.. £150 is a bit low for scrap, you could make plenty more by parting it out yourself

A4 1.9 PD TDI 130 loosing coolant , no obvious external leaks from hoses etc , no mayo in the oil -
strange additional symptom is that internal cabin vents red hot on passenger side and cold on driver side when calling for cabin cooling.
Possibly a blockage somewhere ? water pump...

I sealed mine up but in the end it kept failing, I got ****** off and got a modified tandem pump second hand off ebay from a 2009 A3 and fitted it - they have a modified fitting design that wont come loose.

All this crud is a result of having the car sniffing its own farts by having an operative EGR , your best off disabling the EGR valve by taking the top hose of the EGR top hat and plugging it with a bolt.
