The driver's side rear brakes are binding on my 2005 A3 2.0 TFSI. I can smell the pads burning and feel the heat from the disc. I took the wheel off and confirmed that the wheel turns by hand but is dragging...but the handbrake cable didnt seem to be seized (and doesnt feel like it's seized from...
I think it sounds like a lot of money for those miles, even taking into account the stuff done on it. I'd buy something older and lower miles - purely from a resale point of view....you'll struggle to shift that and lose a fair bit when the time comes....rightly or wrongly people dont want high...
Not sure what Audi charge for the part, but I got mine from VW (as they were closer) for £38, but then it's another £16 for the gasket - which will be the total they charged you. It's 10 mins to change, but still - good not to pay for them to do that!
There's a lot on the Mk5 Golf GTI forum about the DV failing over time, reducing boost. Would this always throw up an engine management light or error code, or is it worth checking? No problem with the running of my car - just wondering!
Hi, thanks very much for that - got it to pair. Unfortunately, after a bit more reading of the owner's manual, it looks like I cant use it unless I use the cradle (with an adaptor), as I dont have the MFSW.
I've recently bought a 2006 A3 2.0 TFSI with Bluetooth. When I search fro it with my iPhone it picks up 'Audi UHV 6304' but then asks for a PIN. I have no idea what the PIN is and cant find it in any of the owners manuals.
I dont suppose there's a 'default' PIN I could try? If not, is it a...
Ha, I can kind of see that argument if we're talking M3 on a 318 or RS4 on a 1.8 A4, but hardly the same with an S Line badge....it's just a marginally different spec.....every other sodding car on the road is an S Line Audi! It was purely that I liked the red splodge!
On balance I probably...
Ha, ok - on balance I've been talked out of it! Maybe the clean look is better!
Certainly wasnt to try and have something 'better' than it actually is - S Line is just a slightly different spec. The Audi is just my daily runaround to save the weekend cars, so I should probably stop obsessing...
Just cleaning up my new 2.0T FSI Sportback Sport. It's black, and I'm tempted to add an S Line grille badge and side badges. I'm not trying to to pretend its an S Line, but I just like the sportier look of a dash of red, as it otherwise looks a bit plain.
Has anyone else done this? Would I be...
Buy privately, and get someone to go along with you that knows their way round a car properly. If you're paranoid then putting the money you save in a savings account and pay in to it whatever you might've paid on a warranty. To be honest these aren't really Audi A3 questions....applicable to...
Thanks for the tips - I've used Fairy in my wet & dry water, but hadn't thought of using it with G3...is this what you meant?
I'm always paranoid of going through the lacquer!
There are quite a few scuffs on the tailgate lip - I'd thought if it wasn't lacquered I probably had a bit more leeway to get rid of them (have done this before with 2000 or 2500 grade paper, Farecla G3, then Autoglym SRP and HD wax). However, judging by your signature you're more of an expert...
Hi, I've just bought an 8P Sportback 2.0TFSI in brilliant black. Can anyone tell me whether this has a lacquer....I would normally assume not for a solid colour, but know that some manufacturers still put a lacquer on non-metallics.
Cheers
Cheers - was it not too bad a job then? I assume there's a need to know what order to do it in - not investigated properly yet but I couldnt see obvious screws!
Did you chuck your cradle? I'm tempted to have a go with one, even as a temporary fix until I get round to replacing the dash.
Thanks
