You have to remember Rob that most oftentimes the people who create these laws and so forth only see cars as a vessel to get to and from places and nothing more. They won't really give consideration to any other factors except if the route of travel let's someone get to their intended...
I never realized your European models don't have cup holders there. The second cup holder spot in the center console is terribly placed it you want to put a second cup in there. I never, or try to never use it if I don't have to.

If it's truly cracked then there will be an air leak and you will throw codes and get reduced performance and fuel mileage. Take it for a spin, might be fine. It will probably misfire or hesitate and you'll probably get a P0299 code or similar.
Any pics of said crack?

Ya, that's not good but can be fixed potentially. I would remove it and take it to a shop to see if it can repaired depending on the extent of the damage.

It happens Rob. I go through these phases quite often. Honestly, at this point I just want to get in it and drive it.

Got the manifold rewelded above the flange. Doesn't seem like it was cracked. He inspected it after he ground it down some and then just filled it back in. Better safe than sorry. Manifold back in. No leaks that I can tell or hear.
Waiting on some suspension stuff to arrive tomorrow and I'll...
Manifold off. Pretty easy to do. Taking it to a guy today that says he welds and can fix it. I hope he does good work, that's just the Debby downer is me speaking. I'm sure it will be fine.

Car continues to challenge me. Got one suspension side done. Broke the shock on the other. Then I accidentally peeled back the oil level sensor connector wire out of the connector. But what takes the cake is I fired up the car again chasing the exhaust leak and found that I have a crack above...
