Fair enough but your original question didn't belong in this thread.
You might get better answers if you start a thread of your own asking for suggestions on the best way forward.
With my S3 there is no dismantling of the light unit. The old ballast is unscrewed and swapped, a small notch is cut in one of the access holes for the new cable and the bulb replaced as normal. All the work, in terms of time, is getting the headlight units out of the car.
The mentioned temperature at the end 43 degrees F is about 6 degrees C
Michelin spokesman Tom Sullivan notes that while there is no direct impact to warranty when driving at any temperature, the company did issue a technical bulletin that contains recommendations regarding the use of summer...
On the S3 I have had CrossClimates all round for two years and will need to replace them in the Autumn at around 12k miles. Very happy with them.
On my FWD cars I have standardised on full winters in the winter, summers in the summer with all weather on the rear all year. That also works well.
It was me what did it Guv.
I bought the EM Tuning D1S bulb kit with the uprated ballast, using Osram Nightbreaker 4300 bulbs. As part of installing it a small notch has to be cut in the housing to allow a cable to run externally.
It had a big impact on light output over the OEM D3S system...
Sorry for late reply, Bi-Xenon.
The fault went solid with the car displaying that the light had failed. As I had put the high output bulbs in and cut the housing I was worried that a warranty claim would fail. So I bought a new light unit as well as a ballast both on eBay, the new light from...
This is crazy as dealers usually like warranty work. Suggest you get hold of the Dealer Principles name and write him a nice little letter expressing your concern over the issue with your car, describing it as a known fault quoting the number, saying that before you raise it with Audi in MK can...
As I said above, they basically refused to show it to me when I asked.
No recording but the 'clunk' is really a 'thud' when you go over a ridge or sharp bump in the road. I thought initially that it was the spare wheel cover in the boot, mine is a saloon too, bouncing up and down. Mine was...
You have to be careful if you buy from a non Audi source. Make sure that they have a rectangular (fans) and round (jet) holes not the three round holes for jets. The description often doesn't make this clear, you have to look at the photos.
Yes, I understand that but my experience with the S3 and my Calibre Turbo with a similar 4x4 is that they are definitely kinder on the front tyres than even my lower power 2WD and lighter Cavaliers.
Fair enough, that's your view. My experience actually using the tyres for a year is, given the weather here, that they are a suitable tyre for the S3 and whilst I don't drive like a nutter the car does get well used. I do live in the roundabout capital of the UK and the pesky Audi and VW HQ...
