    Jerky running cured by disconnecting speedo????

    I posted a problem on here aweek or so ago about my friends 80 avant TDi. It waqs running lumpy at 30 to 40mph. Somebody local told me to disconnect the speedo and it would cure it. It has. But why and what needs to be fixed, he is gonna get done for speeding soon????
