Thanks Siena, is there any way i can adjust my lights myself (roughly) or do you need the device people in garages use?
Futhermore, does anyone know the different types of adjustments that can be made to the beam pattern and where i have to adjust to on the headlamp? Thanks
Could anyone who purchased their lights from germany and used the lever inside the lights to change them from LHD to RHD please check to see if there was a lever in *BOTH* lights please? I only have one in the passenger side light and i need to get these lights through my MOT or i have no car to...
Hi people desperately in need of help on this one as i'm off of work because my car has no MOT until this is solved.
I upgraded my prefacelift to facelift headlamps (A3 1.8T S) and i've come around to MOT time and they are failing my light pattern.
From what i can remember there were...
It sounds like you have actual DS2 bulbs. The type of bulbs that come with most of the kits people get from ebay are hid bulbs with halogen ends on them so that they fit where the original bulbs were. I'm not sure what the solution is to be honest. I guess you could do what you said and risk...
as far as i can make out, this website http://www.ukmot.com/1-6.asp#Text_top states that if they are LHD lights they can be passed as long as the kick-up is removed. They say using tape, or kits but our lights have they build in lever that removes the kick-up. I'm thinking of printing off that...
Yes they are LHD lights. They were passed in my MOT last year, but i completely forgot that i went to a different station last year and took it to the audi/volks specialist i've been having other work done with.
I mean, it's good that they are doing a thorough check but he is seriously...
Just had my car in for an MOT and they wont pass the beam pattern that the LHD headlamps produce. Even though as far as i way aware there was a lever within the headlamps that control the beam pattern i still don't think they will pass it because there's supposed to be a kick up on the outside...
I'm pretty sure i don't have DBW hence i couldn't retrofit cruise control :( but i did hear that the throttle cut out in DBW only cuts in after 5 seconds of braking.. can't confirm it's true through.
Yeh, i wasn't planning on double de-clutching because of what i've read about it and syncronised boxes like you said. I don't think it will be possible to use my heel as it is so small and higher than the brake pedal. I think i more suitable technique for the A3 would be as Prawn described.
Thanks for your reply prawn. I was refering to blipping the throttle whilst braking on downshifts to rev match. I will try doing it the way you do instead of using my heel (I have size 10, it should work!).
I've not read about left foot braking yet, is the point of it to stop weight transfer...
Me and one of my mates are thinking of buying a car for the track and therefore i've been reading up on race driving.
I want to learn heel and toe downshifts so that i'm competent when we start racing but i went to try it this morning and i can't see that it would be possible with the...

Is there an Audi software application, or will they be...
Yeah that's the idea, i've been paranoid since i've had the car because it had a cambelt change at 85k (now on 110k) and the water pump was not replaced. Thanks for your help HTC,
Ross
