if you take a feed from the central light then yes all 4 would come on when ever any dorr is opened. factory fit only the footwell light for the corresponding door comes on.

corrosion is a silent killer. my guess is everything is now starting to corrode and kill everything within the ECU and anything else the water got into. i sorry to say i think you will need a new ECU buddy.

cheers for the reply buddy but the smell is from the passenger side of a LHD car, and its pure petrol fumes smell, like when you are filling up with fuel. i've checked all pipes in the engine bay and can't see any that have cracked or broken. on futher googling and on here i have found the...

get your self some can bus LED's as they have a resister built in it will absorb any voltage within the line. common with new cars. standard festoon and alike LED bulbs will flicker or come on slightly even when it should be off. getting can bus bulbs will get rid of that. be warned though...
