hi, yes I've experienced that type of flood before on another a6 I have. That one the front passenger footwell become damp but no more than 2" of water in the plenem chamber, this one is different as the water was at least 4" and there's no cabin water penetration. There must also be an overflow...
ok I think I found the source of the problem
I realised the servo what you mentioned was towards the rear close to the battery, I removed the cover and found the full rear bay to be in about 4" of water! Thankfully not reaching the ecu but all the brake servo etc was covered. I've syphoned most...
I've had 6 months trouble free driving from my 2002 a6 2.4 quattro, I used it yesterday and it was absolutely fine. I just went out and started it and it started ok but the brake pedal was hard to push. I drove a few metres to test and the brakes again which were very hard and then the engine...
thanks, I'll try and hunt down a stalk on ebay and give that a bash, hopefully that will get to the bottom of this..... I'll post up my results. I'll try the wd40 trick first
hi guys
I have an a6 4.2 quattro 1999. When I indicate right only the side repeater lights up (doesn't blink) and no other lights come on. Also there is a noise that comes from the hazard switch. I bought a new hazard switch on ebay as I thought that was the solution but it does the same...
any takers? It's awfully quiet out there...... lol
does anyone know where the central locking pump is located on this car? It's a a6 4.2 quattro saloon, 1999.
I've looked everywhere and I can't find it. thanks
I have a similar problem matebut mine is now intimitant. Try the contol module under the carpet in the passenger footwell first, check for water, clean contacts etc
other culprits may be the central locking pump or the solenoids in the rear, that's where I'm at, I will update further when I...
quick update......
when I turn the key slightly in the boot this sometimes (maybe 1 in 10 or 20) locks all the doors. This is the only way I can operate the central locking to lock, I get nothing from the drivers door or from the internal buttons
Unlocking the drivers door usually just...
hi guys
I haven't had many central locking for a while as I had the usual water problems due to blocked drain holes under the battery and it corroded my comfort/central locking module in the passenger footwell. As well as not having central locking the interior hazard light switch would flash...
I had the low oil light on the dash come on this morning, I topped up the oil (it was low) and now the light wont go off!
I run vag com to see if it needed to be cleared through here and I cleared all results and the light is still showing on dash
any suggestions?
thanks
superb!
cheers Matt, it works.
I don't have a service key so unfortunately I can only get one key to program.... if I programme key 2 then key 1 doesn't work and vise versa. I guess If I just get a standard key cut I can code both fobs?
Thanks again mate, invaluable info!
thanks, I'll take the battery off now and re connect in the morning
i'll let you know what happens.
in the mean time any other suggestions welcome if that doesn't sort it......
