Mk1 TT 225 track day car, Officially a ten second car 10.8 seconds at 127 mph.

Subscribing for interest in the g25-660 progress and results. I am currently installing the same turbo on my 225 track toy az well. Good luck and post updates!!

Prawn and BigAls A3 Track Car

Should be noticeably faster, at least a couple seconds faster per lap. What was your lap time before in the dry at a track like Caldwell?

    DIY Intake manifold. Pic heavy.

Now that everyone (including a top UK tuner) is telling you the same thing, I'm assuming we can get past the "restriction and choke" point you were focusing on instead of seeing the obvious increased efficiency?

Maybe it's selective reading, but didn't Bill himself posted in this very thread that he had only seen gains from higher flow inlet manifolds? Unless you don't count Bill as one of the top 1.8T UK tuners, what gives? Quoting Bill's statement below. Saying you have been tuning the 1.8t for 8...

Well, not going to pointlessly argue with you. I always had that theory that preconceived ideas can stop people from seeing evidence and data even when they're undeniably obvious. Feel what you want, have whatever opinion/theory you want to have, it's your right -- most people will go with the...

Maybe you're overlooking this, but I don't know how this is not enough or evidence of gains on a stock frame turbo. Gains Made + 20.64 whp + 35.19 wtq Before 187.73 whp and 208.23 wtq After 208.37 whp and 243.42 wtq

That's what we're trying to tell you, there are only gains! Just look at the independent dyno test in the article I linked. The TQ curve increased throughout -- and as a result, so did the HP curve (understandably since HP is nothing but TQ by speed). I am not sure what else could be looked...

Karl, the results of a good intake manifold is good at stock-like levels, but even better with a highly modified engine. I have even seen sizable gains even going from one aftermarket high flow intake manifold to another. One of the Unitronic guys did a test on his personal car switching from a...

I disagree there (respectfully so), just because you're capable of running 450 bhp with something doesn't make it ideal. That 450 could have been 500 if you had a better intake manifold... staying hypothetical. It's like a 2.75" exhaust, you can make X power with it, but it's still a restriction...

    Aftermarket ECU

Thought it was a serious question too and was about to reply with another plug-and-play option besides Emerald that works on ME7.5 DBW. But that's pointless! I'm curious to hear about retaining Haldex function with the pre-made decision.... but "I'm still asking about standalones".

The two slot idea is interesting to say the least, any reasoning for doing that? And is the plenum volume calculated or you went for the "it-is-what-it-is" approach? The finished product looks very nice!

    Adjustable FPR (fuel pressure regulator)

Unless you're after some cool factor, you could also keep it simple with the drop-in ones? http://www.usrallyteam.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10_119&products_id=673...

    Hybrid MAF values

Ye, I hear you! I light up the massive and sticky 315 front tyres on my car if the haldex is disengaged. So I can only imagine Lupo with much less front rubber. Do you have an LSD on it? It's funny, my boost delivery is the opposite of yours. I set it to slingshot to 27/28 psi at onset, then...

    Hybrid MAF values

Nice Bill, that's what happens on mine too on a 80mm ID MAF housing (when I still bothered to run a MAF). Maxed out at 298 throughout the range.

    Ignition coils

Everything Tuffy said is spot on! Only thing I may add is don't forget the plugs in all this. You can swap all the coils in the world, if your plug are not up to par you will have misfires under load.

    bilstein b12 vs b14

And the same engineering haven't been put by the same engineer on their B14? They are the based on the same inverted monotube dampers BTW (except for different valving). One has more sporty valving -- one is more geared toward comfort. One is more compact with lower unsprung weight -- the...

    Beat the roll

My thoughts are that it comes down to setup, and setting it up properly. For example the Natural Frequency (aka ride frequency) chosen for the car or specific track. Secondly, the valving in the dampers (especially the high speed valving and amount of digression in the curves). A bit of...

    Beat the roll

Sure, like quoting some random post on Porsche coilover convo which has nothing to do with progressive and linear springs and proves nothing. EXE-TC makes coilovers for all sorts of use Rally, street cars and tarmac racing. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=48&t=997387&i=40...
