Kind of in the same boat: PCP is up (very) soon on my 2016 A4, was all set to get a facelift S4 but then it went diesel and is only a bit quicker 0-60 than my current 272 diesel so I don't think justifies the money to upgrade to it (plus you can't actually order one yet and I quite fancy trying...

This all just makes the S4 decision more baffling. Lord knows what they were thinking, be interesting to hear the real reasons if they ever do come out.

With the factory-fit privacy glass you don't notice much of a difference in light transmission when you're looking from the inside out: with aftermarket tints, does it look as dark from the inside as it does from the outside?

That was my reading (admittedly with my pretty poor German) of the Audi.de site as well - you can still buy S4s there but only ones that are dealer stock.

I think they've lost their collective minds, for two reasons: (a) S models are meant to be for enthusiasts, who I can't imagine are going to be very happy with a TDI (b) 5.1s 0-60 for the S6 Avant (and therefore probably another 1/4s faster for the S4 if they go down the same route)? My v6 272...

Have to say mine doesn't seem particularly rough at idle: I've never noticed any vibration while stationary (at least not any more than in any other car I've had). Hard to say via a forum if yours is normal or not though, ours could be exactly the same and I could just not be noticing something...
