    Baby on the way

Should be in the glove box. Our little lad has always been in the back of my 3-door, the easy entry seats make it pretty easy to get the little'un in and out.

    audi 1.8t compared to quattro'd

I've owned both a 2wd and a quattro, the quattro is definately a winner in my book.

    audi 1.8t compared to quattro'd

You lose a fair bit of power through the quattro system, but as standard the quattro is still quicker than the 2wd (7.3 secs to 60 as opposed to 7.9 for the 2wd). A mapped K03s 2wd against a mapped quattro, the 2wd will probably cream it.........in a straight line. Get on a curvy country B-road...

Halfords 5W30 VW/Audi Fully Synthetic 5L Oil, anyone used this?

Changed my oil with Halfords stuff a couple of weeks back, no problems. A fair few quid cheaper for 5L of the Halfords than 4L of the Castrol

    S3 2003 Heavy missfire! HELP!!

Just disconnect the maf (pull out the connector plug) and see it it runs better. Don't drive far, just a 1/2 mile or so. If it smooths out, you know it's the maf

Question for those who have bypassed the N249 valve

I've used 5mm proper silicone tubing as a temp fix for a faulty N249. Sorted the problem straight away, however the N249 is a safety system against overboost, so I'll be replacing it and then getting the N75J back on:o.k:

    Help with longitudinal sensor

I think Mike's hit the nail on the head, mine is definitely next to the steering column on the drivers side in the big gap where yours obviously isn't. Maybe someone with a pre-facelift can help you out...

    Help with longitudinal sensor

I've replaced both the longitudinal and lateral sensors in mine without the need to recalibrate, but I don't know with yours as it's a different year. The lateral one is easy to get at, you just need to remove the cover around the underside of the steering wheel. Remove all the screws...

    NO POWER !!!

Sounds like a coilpack failure or possibly the MAF (does the car run the same with it unplugged?), the first stop is to get the fault codes read.

    N249 Fault?

Yeah, I tried that but it didn't help.

    N249 Fault?

The bypass is fitted. So far so good, the car seems to be accelerating smoothly. There's no major change in throttle response, but there's no loose of boost either. As the N249 is a safety valve for over-boost situations, I've replaced my N75J with the standard fitted N75. Can I run the N75J...
