Well that and I was following my car the other day and thought that the other half had managed to drive most of the way home without braking. Plus coming back from the cinema the a couple of nights ago it was dark enough to see the lights working and then not!
Will have a look at...
Some rotten little grunt has keyed my better halfs car, all down one side. Its too big and deep for me to touch up and would be too expensive to have the pannels resprayed. Has anyone had any experience with any of the scratch repair companys? Are they any good? Be even better if you know of...
Anyone interested in a cheap '80's Audi? I think its an '81 100 GL. Its the boxy type not the areo dynamic one of the late '80's. Its a deep red possibly metalic. Its up for £199. If your interested its parked up on the A127 in Southend on Sea, Essex near the Bell pub. If you drive down the 127...
All sorted, sounds much better now. The driver side door tweeter isn't working so I have to have a look at that at some time. Also my car has never had rear speakers!?!?!? The felt insterts are still in place over the rear speaker holes in the rear cards by the base of the rear seat. I...
My '99 T, 1.6 SE shows 101K, i've only recently bought it but runs ok slight hunt for idle (typical VAG!). I've done front and rear disks and pads, air filter and new plugs. Seems to be returning very good MPG, surely the only reason to have a 1.6! One of the flappy door pockets has broken...
I've done the front disks and pads and bungged a new air filter in. I'm going to tackle the back brakes tomorrow. Are the calipers the type with the screw in pistons? Also is it possible to change the centre 2 spark plugs with the manifold in place? Ta
I'm in Essex, not too far. Have you ever been to one of the Phat Dub's meets in the Colchester area? I have yet to make it one but if you need a meet fix have a look on their web site/fourm. I think that Club Audi has a meet in Suffolk as well.
I'd be interested if you set up a meet by the...
I've just ordered £160 worth of brake disks and pads front and rear, leads, plugs and filters anything I should know? Any odd quirks to the A3 when fitting these items? Anything I should do at the same time? All help appreciated.
I've hunted arround for any signs of the original wiring so that I can take the power supply for my amp but no sign of anything. Where's the best/easiest place to take the power from? If I come directly from the battery (via a fuse) any ideas on how to get through the bulk head? Also any tips...
How hard is it to swap the steering wheel on an A3. Obviously its got an airbag and I don't want the little fu#ker going off in my face! I'm happy to put another Audi unit in, mines just a bit tired. I'd also like to swap the gear knob as thats showing signs of age too.
Someone's definatly been a chopin'! Pulled the head unit forward to have another look for other wires. All I can find is a very short bit of ofc phono twin cable and a short bit of singles. I can't see any connectors where the amp would have been! There is evidence of an amp having been...
Snot there! There is no sub in my car. I guess its possible that someone has removed it at some point. Is there any spec A3 SE that wouldn't have had a sub? The wiring behind the head unit has been pretty butchered. What can I say you get what you pay for and my car was cheap!
You can get addapor plates for so the screw holes work with out drilling anything.

I've just bought a '99 A3 unfortunatly it only came with the service key not the flip key fob. The car also has a Sigma alarm fitted and you guessed it I don't have the fob for that either. Which one is going to be easier/cheaper to replace?
I've just bought a '99 A3 SE (does that make it an 8L?). To my total dissbelief having fitted my Sony MP3/CD I have found my car only has 2 speakers! Looks like that is the original spec. Can i retro fit rears? What size are they? There are no wires so I'll have to run them, while I'm at it...
Hello Audi fans. I've not logged on for over a year. Why? I had to sell my B4 80 quattro 2.6E as I started my own business and needed a van. Having got fed up with running my own little company I've got a proper job again, sold the van and bought another Audi.
Its only a cheapie and is...
