After some info about rot under pollen filter housing. I know passats suffer form this.
I removed mine today, no rot thank god.
Wonder if there is any sealant required between housing, foam seal and body?
I went for the ecs mount. A lot more transmission noise. Maybe too much as its a daily, ill give it some time see how I feel. If I wasn't running a miltek and decat, it would be to much.
The gsf outer cv joint/boot was £22 part no. 439VG0332. Went on fine, been driving around on it all weekend and hasn't come off and no noises.
The manufacturer is GSP part no. 803020. Don't know if they are any good or not. Time will tell.
I ordered the 1.8t ones after a long conversation about drive shafts and part numbers. He's sure what ive ordered will fit.
I'll give them a measure before I try to fit.

Both joints are knackered. Gsf had the shaft for £74. Easy to change the shaft than both cvs at that price.
Ive got some new joints now. Hope they fit.
I need a new shaft for the front right of my tqs avant.
Ordered one from gsf, wrong shaft. The guy took my reg. and searched on his computer.
He says I have an odd car. audi part no. is 8D0 407 452 EX. Which I cant find anywhere.
Are all 1.8T Quattro shafts not the same??
I'm putting 312mm upgrade upfront. Is it worth upgrading the rears?
Was looking at putting s4 rears on. As I understand it, I have to get the b5 facelift ones, which are 256mm vented discs.
Anyone done this?
