I hada low down rattle from my exhaust when accelerating at low speed, sort of reaches a peak rattle and then rolls off (If you know what I mean).. had checked by Audi and they tightened exhaust heat shield, apparently water can get between as well and makes worse on damp days... This all sorted...

Could be your anti-roll bars... I had similar thing and had to have them replaced... Seems to make more noise when you have a passanger in the car...

Noticed similar thing when I got my A3... Took back to Audi to get everything checked out and they did a full tracking check, column adjuctments etc... and found it to be spot on. They suggested it was to do with the car being VERY sensitive to the camber in the road, and suggested I try driving...
