Don't know how the dealers sleep at night....

Yeah, I guessed that about the price. I could buy a very nice A4 with £8600!

Don't know how the dealers sleep at night....

Evening all. Bit of a story here. Should make a few of you laugh. Took my B6 to Harrogate Audi during the week, to get a couple of problems looked at, the problems being my broken dipstick pipe, and quite often I get an ABS warning on the dash. Left my car with them, and happily drove away to...

Dipstick problem - not sure if serious or not....

Thanks for your reply, but it's not the dipstick that's broken. It's the pipe which guides the dipstick into the sump. My worry really is whether I'm ok to drive the car while there's nothing properly attached to the whole in the top of the sump which the dipstick goes into.

Dipstick problem - not sure if serious or not....

Afternoon all. Went to check my oil at lunchtime, and as I pulled out the dipstick, the top of the dipstick housing and the (approx 9 inch) pipe underneath which leads straight into the sump broke away. The plastic is so brittle it just crumbles in my hand. So my question is, will I have...

Key fob will not lock or unlock

Just bringing an older thread back rather than starting a new one, as I now have the same problem. Key fob has stopped working altogether. I've disconnected the battery and reconnected, turned ignition on and pressed lock/unlock, put a new battery in the fob, and tried the fob in and around the...

    Electrical problems. Some help please?

Thanks for the replies. However, I don't think it's the wiring because the passenger window doesn't work from the passenger door button. I'm thinking fuses now. Is there one fuse for windows / central locking? Gonna have a look now. Had a quick look at the wiring going into the drivers door...

    Electrical problems. Some help please?

Evening all. I'm after a few pointers here. Noticed a couple of problems with my 2001 2.0 b6 this morning. Both electric windows have stopped working. At the same time, the central locking stopped locking the driver's door (all other doors and boot will lock from the fob). Also, the interior...

Help needed with a part name, please.

Fantastic. Thanks, Welshquattro. Been trying to find that diagram for ages. And yes, it's a 2.0. Cheers, Quattrocalum. All help appreciated.

Help needed with a part name, please.

Hi folks. I've had a cold starting problem recently and have identified the problem but have not a clue what the part that needs replacing is called. The two photos show the part, the second is just a closer shot. Thanks for any help.

Can anyone tell me the name of this and what it "should" do?

I serviced my A4 2.0 petrol last weekend, and had a quick check over everything when I finished. I noticed this problem, (photo below) and don't know what it is called or what it does, except that one end is fed from the air intake. As you can probably see, there is some duct tape at one...

    Rear door stuck locked

I believe it may also fail MOT due to back seat passengers not being able to get out in an emergency.

    Difficulty with cold starts

Hi folks. In the last 4 or 5 days, I've noticed a problem developing with my B6 A4. It starts perfectly normally from cold, but struggles to tick over. And if I try to rev, it cuts out almost straight away. It always starts again, but won't tick over steadily until I start driving. This...

    Power supply control modules

i guess this is a question for some of you more techy-minded folks out there..... My 2002 A4 B6 needs a new power supply control module (sometimes called an under-dash ECU), which has the part number 8EO 907 279. Audi obviously want about a million quid for this, but I've found them relatively...

    Audio warning for lights

Evening all. Just a quick question. Does the B6 A4 have an audible warning for when you leave lights on when exiting the car? I would expect it to, but mine isn't working. What do I need to look for or replace to fix the issue? I find it really useful to have, especially at this time of year...

    Try filling up like this!

I might be wrong but I always assumed a fuel tank would be wider at the bottom than the top, therefore the bottom half holds more (I have no specific evidence or reasoning for thinking this, just one of those casual assumptions....) Totally depends on how the gauge is engineered though, as to...
