I had a similar issue on my A3 '07 170hp TDI. Issue turned out to be that the Turbo wasn't centralised properly - not 100% sure what that means but I am guessing that the Turbo wasn't seated in the correct position (probably after previous job at another mechanic). My mechanic did the job for...

amazon has all sorts of crap, just put in your car details e.g. model, year, etc. you can get ideas of what you can change/upgrade also google local shops near you, if their prices are too steep, check ebay etc.
