Spending the same amount of money on a car that might do the same isn't looking like a treat, which is why I am trying to look at the actual costs involved in getting an engine that will "more than likely" last me several years to come.

I didn't realise that they were a factory fit.
I have bypassed cars (not S3's)that have them.
Does anyone know if they were an option on S3's, or were they standard for certain years?
You say you have had problems with past cars in regards to fuel pressure being too low. Can I ask you what the cause was?
Mine went in for a remap, but they couldn't do it for that very reason.
No, the OP sues the person he bought it from. What the people they contracted did(or didn't) is of absolutely no concern to the OP.
To go even further, the OP cannot take any action against the 3rd party even if he wanted to.
