    Bye Bye

Don't go Jungle. Please reconsider. The forum needs people like you who obviously know alot about the mechanics of cars. I feel very guilty now for starting the FSI vs TDI road race thread. (However, I must admit that, up until now, I have been enjoying following the debate).

    Leaking Drivers Footwell HELP?

I had a similar problem - a sopping wet patch in front of the clutch pedal. I also noticed this after driving in rain, but that must have been a coincidence, as when I took it to the dealers they diagnosed it as a leaking air con condensation pipe. It must have been the air con pipe, as it's...

    Road Race: 2.0FSI v 2.0TDI

Further to the What Cars Have U Raced? thread on the 8L page... Today, after hearing a lot of talk on this forum, I finally got my opportunity to see just what an A3 2.0TDI has to offer against a 2.0FSI. This was just what I've been waiting for - a clear dual carriageway and a 2.0TDI whose...

[ QUOTE ] How on earth can the other dealers in thier immediate area charge c£100 more for the same service. I can't believe thier overheads are that dramatically different! [/ QUOTE ] Nope ... they are just thieving gits.

    1st Service cost for a A3 (2004) 2.0Tdi Sport

My 2.0FSI has just had its 1st AVS at Smith Knight Fay Bolton. £173.01 all in, which I didn't think was too bad? It got to 18,500 miles before needing a service, so it will be well over a year until it needs another.

    If you get a puncture...

[ QUOTE ] Or next time you change your tyres got for the run flat ones... saving you from having to stop at all...!! [/ QUOTE ] I've read that run flat tyres are very hard and therefore give an uncomfortable ride (so to speak ) and lots of road noise. Is this the case, or it is a myth?

    If you get a puncture...

[ QUOTE ] Yes I do have one of those, but again you are supposed to remain below 50 mph. As you say they can be useful to get you out of an emergency situation until you can safely change the wheel. [/ QUOTE ] Have a good trip.

    A3 Saloon! Why?

Soz, Have fixed the link. Pic 2 above should now work. I agree - an A3 saloon would be absolutely pointless. What's really worrying is that at the bottom of Pic 1 is says "A3 Sedan 1.4".

    A3 Saloon! Why?

Whilst avoiding watching Big Brother, I've been looking around a German Audi forum Clicky and stumbled across some photoshopped pics of an A3 saloon! Pic 1 Pic 2 IMO, Pic 1 looks pony and Pic 2 is identical to an A4. Thought you might be interested though ....

    1st Service cost for a A3 (2004) 2.0Tdi Sport

I know that the thread is about TDI servicing, but ... I'm having my 2.0FSI serviced for the first time next week at Bolton Audi for £168 inc VAT. Mileage will be 18500. My wife's Corolla has recently had it's first service (fixed 10k intervals) at a Toyota stealers for £76 inc VAT. So...

    Carbon Fibre in S3

[ QUOTE ] beware the piano black bits are horrendously expensive, so carbon ones will be equally extortionate i would guess. [/ QUOTE ] Yep, I recently paid £25.68+VAT just for a replacement piano black ashtray lid! I'd guess that it would cost a couple of hundred quid to re-do all the inlays.

    Water Leak in Footwell

So - my car's been fixed today by the stealers. Leaking air con drain pipe was the cause - driving in the heavy rain storm must have been a coincidence.

    Chipped screen

Japper, My new OEM screen doesn't have the Audi symbol, it says Pilkington instead. The Pilkington label is also on the driver's side - on my original screen the Audi symbol was on the passenger's side. Adam
