Twats! That's defo airgun damage and a close shot! The orange colour is from heat on impact and can see the pellet mark. To do that damage to a car panel it must of been under 30yards, Looks like .22 pellet about 5.5mm, could of been done with a pistol by someone walking up behind the car. You...

I would get a smoke test done first, if your in bristol area Avontuning does smoke test and have full audi diognostics.

If your going to remove the cat get your phone in back of turbo get some pics of the wastgate if that's not working correct or damaged that will also cause a glowing turbo, also oil starvation. My cat was still clean after 120k when I had my HFC fitted was quite surprised.
