IMO i think its the damping and the 18's which make for a harsh ride at low speed.
17's would definately be better on b roads and would differently valved shocks
i ended up with the s-line as it looks the part and at motorway speeds it gets significantly better.
springs feel about right for...
michelin pilot sports - just got 2 new ones fitted balanced for £300 all in - from kwik fit after a haggle. - the extra cost gets better mileage and IMO less road noise.
cant get an a3 to oversteer?.....
quattro perhaps not but the fwd is relatively easy to induce with lift off oversteer. not...
lots of cash to pay on the spot speeding fines....
Beware they WILL get you on english plates - the 'frog' march to the cash point isnt funny :-(
Great roads and much better drivers than in the UK IMO - they will get out of your way :-)
DSG was originally toyed with by audi in the early 80s with the UR sport development? longitudinal layout and 4wd - basically designed to try to get flat out smooth changes to get the most out of their turbo lagged 5 pot motor (i have recently driven a swb sport and believe me things have moved...
hhmmnnn - asked them to do it but they didnt have time! - so it looks like 40k will have to do.
they did however have time to stick it on the diagnistics - said they didnt find anything....
HOWEVER - they seem to have done something (newer software?) as it seems significantly more willing in D...

car will be back in 10k for dsg fluid change (as they didnt have time) so will TRY to get them to look next time (10k = 3 months for me)

a - second car is a 911with 3.8 rs motor
b - have a noisy exhaust which cost a stack and gave zero extra bhp
a car has to sound right in my opinion - barking and popping on overrun ideally :-)
needless to say a four pot diesel will never sound good...
got a knocking on the car over bumps at low speed - sounds like drop links on the roll bar? anyone had any problems? car has 30k on it 20 of which are motorway miles
waste of time on a road car - car design and filters are a lot better than the 70's where k&n's etc were needed to get 10bhp out of a mini etc.

rarely show any difference on a rolling road.... 3bhp at top end... might as well have a sh*te before...
aqua-planing - 4x4 makes no difference to aquaplaning at all - as stated above tyre sizes are the key - if you cant shift the water from the centre of the tyre to the outer the water builds up and you get the sheet ice effect. Very Very scary.

hi, trying to get a feel for in gear acceleration times for a dsg tdi locked into 5th gear - between 50 and 70mph
standard and modified times please
mines a shade under 6 secs (think its standard ie not remapped?)
intersting to see over on the cuprasport forum revo are saying >200bhp is possible from a 140tdi - but thats where injectors and turbos are just about at their max - so de tunning is anticipated.
i'm definately interested in a remap providing its switchable back to normal via the diagnostics...
