As the title suggests my front windscreen wipers are permanently on, if I use the jets - which I have to do to keep it wet - they park for a few seconds at the end of the spray cycle then come on constantly again. I'm guessing it's either the relay or the stalks but has anyone come across this...
I'd like to be able to charge my phone etc in the car so I'm toying with wiring in a dual port usb charger. Am I correct in thinking that I can just take a 12v switched live and ground from under the dash, put an inline fuse in, put the port wherever I'd like and it should all work fine? Wiring...
Hi all, I'm looking to replace my chorus stereo in my prefaclift s3 with an aftermarket one. If I remember correctly I need a specific harness to retain the sub and rear speakers...does anyone know exactly which one? I can't seem to find one and any old posts have dead links! Cheers
I have no experience of that particular one, my only advice is not to buy the cheapest one. Some of them are proper *****, a tenner and reading a few reviews should get you one that does all you need
Only because I hate it when posts are left unfinished - I bought a new maf from Audi - fitted this afternoon and now showing 165g which equates to 206.25 bhp. Not bad for a standard 20 year old car.
Now time to book in with Bill
I swapped out the n75 for an old spare and it's now boosting to 14psi, result. Maf is still showing peak figures of 150g though so I'm hoping a new, genuine maf should sort that. Getting there
While I've still been in the Audi family I've been out of 1.8t's, forgotten half of the nothing I ever knew 9psi on a k04 turbo should be actuator pressure! I gave it death earlier and boost would not budge beyond 9psi, maf reading 150 - 187bhp - and the car held 9 and felt decent. So I have a...
I'm only using vcds lite so can only log certain channels. Might need to get a gauge and pump to see when it cracks open. The DV is the 20 year old original so might not be upto much too
After having my last S3 for 6 odd years I had a break but recently got the itch to spend money and time fixing old cars so bought another one! Tis a lovely pre facelift example in really good condition. Overall it drives really well...
However! I've put my bluetooth obd2 thing in with torque...
I retro fitted a polo cup holder into my car, was the same era - 6n? Fitted in the dash nicely with only a little work with a file. Part numbers will be on here via the search button, might need to go back to the dawn of time though
Thank you. I'll pull it apart and have a look. I doubt it's the loom though as everything else on the door works, the switch lights up with the lights on so should in theory be getting power. I would just buy another switch but I have a poverty spec one which has manual rear windows and every...
Hi all, had a quick search and most cases the window not working is the loom. In my case though everything else on the door , passenger window and wing mirrors all work and when I use the switch I can hear the motor clock in a relay clicking kind of way but only when I try upwards. There's no...
Had my software update done on my 3.2 on Tue, had a free health check / audi cam thrown in. Found a couple of things that did need doing but I did feel that the quoted 400 quid to replace the front disc splash guards was a little steep. The also told me I had a timing error problem so went home...
Thank you. Typically I'm right on the cusp of changeover, I know from experience my door locks are the later type.
Is there any definite way of telling if the rear speakers are amplified? There' s no steering wheel controls as it's poverty spec! I will pull the head unit and have a look to see...
Apologies - I have searched but all the old links are dead.
I have a 2005 non bose bog standard concert stereo and I'd to fit my old favourite sony head unit. Could anyone help me out with what Iso cables / adapters I will need to get it and all the speakers working correctly?
Many thanks
