My poor B5 S4 is starting to get rusty arces and needs some other body work stuff..... Mainly because ages ago I rolled the wings, as I run coilovers and 19s in the summer....
I've taken it to a couple of body shops to clean and repaint and this is what happens....:
Shop: 'Nah, you need new...
I had the same set up in my car, awesome set up. I put the amp in the same place but I ran a 2 channel for the fronts too! Wanting to replicate it for my S4 now.... At some point. But cracking effort! Ive been a JL audio sub fan ever since!
Good to see andymacs work lives on. I has an A3 set up it was awesome and I've always wanted to replicate his and wellhouse0 's A4 B5 8 inch JL sub set up. I'll get round to it soon I think.....
s3mad_dude How did you get on with the fitting?
Hi All, Thanks to all thatâs contributed. I too am kicking myself as I managed to break my IMF by cleaning it!
I was considering blocking the EGR for gain of MPG but after this experience I think I will leave well alone.
Picking new one up from ECP for a bargain 136 plus vat with Trade...
Had a crash a couple of weeks ago... had me thinking.... turns out the b7 is 4 star euro Ncap but the B8 is 5 star..... Im now thinking B8 despit my previous preference. Soooooo Ive not heard great things aboutthe 143 CR diesles MPG, but can you legally ditch the DPF on the B8s? Was it 09 they...
this is exactly where I was coming from. Its such a shame the 170 should be amazing on paper and seems 'lesser' manufacturers are producing better engines by the timw VW/Audi were moving on from PD. The 170 is a bit of hybrid as it uses the piezo injectors not the traditional PDs. Ive got a 3cyl...
thanks for that. Would be good to have some more feedback on the 170 less dpf MPgs are like but Im thinking a remapped 140 is the way to go and best for me!
thanks for all the replies. This car will be a keeper and the a3 we've done 60 odd k in.
I hear what you are saying about quattro it is awesome, but given I have a 'weekend car', I'm not fussed about traction or power too much. Since I've discovered winter tyres I'm not convinced i would need...
thanks for the replies! Mac... what MPg does your mate see on his dpf delete car? I know how diesels work its basically a case of MPG directly proportional to power.
I just hear of all the 140s regularly returning over 50 ( can anyone confirm?!) with ease and I really am puzzled why 30 bhp...
Ah what a quandry!
Time for a new car, well a newer car and bigger more to the point, new addition to family means the 3 door A3 doesn't cut it anymore.
So Ive had the A4 B7 and B8 debate with myself and read the threads on here and I think I'll plump for a B7 Tdi avant S-line 2.0. I would like...
Right.... SOrted! I found this diagram
from this link:
VWVortex.com - Here's a list of fuses for MKIV cars (fuse too for search))
Discovered fuse 38 was the culprit, blown but still showed continuity using the top testing 'prongs'.
Unbeleivable..... now I just need to code the remotes and put...
Hi Guys,
Ive suffered the usual Central locking pump failure! First it was running longer then it just went pop taking it with it the interior lights and the electric windows.
So I ordered a replacement pump from ebay and its arrived. I fitted it and its as dead as the last one. Now the listing...
OK doke, Ive snipped the right one then.... I do have a brown Connector but only 2 pins are connected. There are two thin blue and two thin brown cables that seem to be connected to the "LF" pins, but thats it. I disconnected the brown plug altogether and the stereo still sounds ok, plus its got...
Sorry for digging this one up again....
2 things: I have an S4 with bose and i think it has had a replacement stereo. It needs another new one as the display is on the way out but anyway....
I've tried cutting the "bose wire" to improve the sound as indicated in post 2 on this thread, but i...
Id be taking as much as you can off that car. If your not allowed the engine then they didnt stipulate you couldnt take the turbo manifold Ecu woring loom etc etc... just leave the bare engine.... From the sounds of it its technically yours anyway....
Really gutted for you mate...
Actually, oddly enough Im having a similar issue. The electric window fuse keeps blowing, and I found it in my fuse box no problem cos it was blown (no 6), although annoyingly it doesnt list it in the owners manual. It shows number 6 as "central locking", even thought the central locking works...
